Current man & women grown up in a peaceful & econimic high growth period. Almost everything in their up growing life seems easy & expected. So upon deciding partners, sure expect higher then what they experiance now.
Would stress that many are selecting base on them-self out wards. Not wanting to see want that person is in the first place. Weather been rich or poor does not gurantee happiness. It's the attude towards the relationship & how to "see" & handle it in a caring & sensible way (Loving Way).
Just too many forgot how to "love". Love is not measure by money or material. Too bad current trends mixed love up with other things.
Hint: A rich or capable guy is always in demand. No matter he is married with 1, 2 or 3 wives... he is still in demand by "other" women. So women out there think twice. Want to marry a rich guy & start worrying of "Other" women? Or marry a "Lovable Normal Guy". Hint: Women's demand changes from time to time just like stocks market. Sometimes is low .... May goes lower (Fat hope) ... but most people (99.99%) wants their stocks to go higher. Either you need to have a abilities to buy stocks (High) or get a "Low Low Demand Women"

Foreign brides may be more deadly than local brides.
One relative married a vietnamese but she flew back home
in less than 4 weeks. Who knows she may be matchmaked again with another guy under a different name. Hell - the agent and dowry money
is damn good.
Another relative's brother married a taiwanese but she flew back home
in less than 3 years with their child and he had to live in taiwan indefinitely
for the child's sake. Kinda broke his aged mother's heart in singapore.
So people....not every marriages with foreign brides end up well for local guys as portrayed by the newspaper. Life might not be blissful anymore after the honeymoon period. -
Everyone's demanding, everyone wants an all-in-one mate. While we can call claim its the other side's fault, I think we should keep ourselves in check. Applies for me too.
Dammed, on a personal note, I hate girls who whine all the time, act girly and cute, screams and cries for stupid reasons, and believes they are a fairy tale princess trapped in reality.

The only way to attract a s'pore girl is when you live overseas. A Singaporean yes, but one who lives overseas, educated aboard and works aboard.
Most local gals will go for a Singaporean who is more international because of the fact he's probably richer(overseas ed and work mah- their pay is higher outside). -

please enlighten us as to why Xiaxue's views are ostensibly more valid than the article posted.
at the very least, i consider them both opinions derived from observations. i do not find either one flawed in itself. but i do object to the way u toss something out in such a cavalier manner without properly saying WHY.
and isn't it the point of the article that women are more choosey and demanding of their life partners these days? and that is why some men are finding it convenient perhaps? to seek a partner overseas. where the womenfolk find that singaporean men can offer them the opportunity for a better life...
incidentally, this isn't a trend limited to Sg... South Korean men are seeking such brides from eastern europe as well. their reasons? they are not rich, not handsome and not eligible enough for S Korean women. sounds familiar?
of course, "buying" a bride this way isn't an end in itself. it can still go wrong. it still requires much effort, sacrifices and compromises from both parties to make it work.
but seriously... wouldn't one be more inclined to go the extra mile for a special someone who was at least appreciative?
and that, i think, is the point of it. many singaporean girls cheese me off immensely because u can never do enough for them. inasmuch as they would like to be pampered like princesses, men like to feel appreciated for their efforts. -

My frend's m'sian wife (know her for >5 years before marriage) hated her own children cause it "stopped" her from having a comfortable life. She pushed all responsibilities to her in-laws and her husband. She had a recent fight and wanted divorce, walk out on her kids and went to her frend house.
Same for men, I know this m'sian guy who has 3 other women with him who he might be sexually active with but he has a gf he was going to marry. He explained these women are close friend.
I had also know lots of rich men who betrayed their wives and kept mistresses all over the place and thought their wife did not know... I had a relative who abuse and beat up his family and children.
Foreign women/men better? Not really. Its a matter of weather the men and women who choose their partners, did they truly open their eyes or not.
Whoever these people choose as partners, its their choice weather its local or foreign. Its best to make sure that people keep their eye really peeled.. -

Singaporean guys need to learn how to court girls.
A lot of them are too shy to approach girls & date them, fearing rejection.
They lack interpersonal/communication skills.
That's why they always say the 'good ones' get taken very fast. -

Maybe its just that they want the chio ones only... then turns out some of the chio ones didn't develop their character and they get burnt. Then they come around here to make comments ah.. I met a lot of plainer ladies and they are nice people but they had and seem doomed to dateless-ness. I suppose the ta poh eye tah stamp.

Say the men remain status quo as they had been.
Let these by hypothetical scenarios:
The women, from China, Kalimantan, Vietnam, and etc all improve themselves till they are better and on par with the so call Singaporean women. Are these men going to wait around for the next batch of under previldeged women from perhaps another country to submit themselves to the singapore because we simply had stronger economic powers.
If these women are marrying into Singapore for the so called better life. So what would happen if one day our economic powers collaspe and the men in the country become poor and unable to support themselves or they are on equal standing as the men back in these foreign countries. Then would these foreign women come to Singapore, marry these poor men and help them work from scratch in these poor conditions that is no different their own country only now, they had to work harder since most are not educated and they are now submitted to a foreign country with no support.
Let me put it this way. Love is a transaction. Do not be lulled into believing it is anything otherwise. -

it is true that many men are shallow and crave the trophy gf... boils down to the issue of male ego as well...
it is a big boost to suddenly have hundreds of vietnamese babes queueing up to marry the singaporean dude when more attractive sg girls would probably not even give them the time of day cos of their many inadequacies... not charming, not good looking, etc etc...
money hides a thousand flaws... what u don't have, u can always buy... quite tragic when one thinks about it...
i guess its true that these mail order brides are but one of the conveniences that our stronger currency allows for now... its not the solution.
ultimately, what is so wrong with singapore that the men seem to be getting so inept socially??? -

Actually I am a bit surprised tat so many girls felt singaporean men r useless... Tis actually just confirm the suspicion tat singaporean girl, in a sense, really become a bit too choosy. Is singaporean guy tat useless ? I mean, can we really blame a person if he do not succeed fiancially ? There r always people losing out in the rat race and does tat make him being despised and look down upon ? I thought personality compatibility is the more important than choosing fiancial compatibility... Tat really means tat singaporean blue collar or poorer male really can't find a singaporean wife... IMO, a normal male will prefer to choose a singaporean wife than a foreign one. Why choose a person who had difficulty in learning your culture and language who is also a potential embarrassment (finding a foreign wife meant u can't find a local one) to yourself ? Maybe they r really right in saying tat they can't find a singaporean girl willing to be his wife because they r too choosy. They rather remains single then marrying a "prince riding a white horse".
I also find it a surprise tat a lot of girls here put all the blame of a failed relationship on the men solely... IMO a failed relationship may means both party is at fault and not just one sided... And even if it really is the fault of one party, it shouldn't be used to knock down the whole perception of male in general. Another surprise I have is some girls actually do not intend to get married and list down reasons why marriage is out. IMO, marriage meant a totally diffeent thing from wat she described. Marriage has nothing to do with "servitude and slavery". If there is true love to each other, they will "volunteer" to help out others and also can "demand help" when he/she needs it as well. I don't know man... children r better raised from your own, the thought of staying in an old folks home remind me of a hospice and pets can't even talk... unless u just want a listener who cannot comunicate back... I find more compelling reasons to get married than not. -
From my past experience, I found Singapore women too self-centred - when in
the relationship, it's very much about the passive (and unspoken) expectation of the lady on the guy to take the initiative to do the chasing, sacrifice, giving, etc, etc to please and amuse them. The relationship continues fine until one day the girl kicks up a fuss when the guy can't meet her expectations and she becomes unreasonable. That's when the guy throws in the towel and move on. -

Want to get a foreign bride? Go ahead! Coming here to post the same thing 3 or 4 times is not going to improve your lives.
oldbreadstinks, i know you have a personal vendetta against me since the whole GAZ episode and everything I said you have so far tried to be nothing but targetting it. You don't have anything better to do? Find your foreign bride! Good local men are a rare find. Those who found one, please enlighten me on your experiences.
