Politicians in forums

What do you think of politicians participating in forums?
I visited the sammyboy forums page and chanced upon Goh Meng Seng arguing with bohemiansg about tidal waves and tsunamis. (Yes, no joke about this)

A petty argument though but it highlighted the shifty stance of Goh and how he will attempt to defend a worthless argument at all costs.
There has also been word going around sammyboy that he talks down people.
For those of you who don't know GMS, he is a member of the National Solidarity Party (NSP). He was a member of the Workers' Party Central Executive Committee but resigned months back due to an online argument in sammyboy.

Chia Ti Lik, a lawyer by profession, is also an active participant in sammyboy. It was his online joust with GMS that led to his resignation from WP as well.

GMS is also here..rarely though.
I don't quite like sammyboy forums..it went out of hand and most of the time its pure flaming. -
Sammyboy culture is indeed hardline language....not a place for politicians to express their ideologies and thoughts.
Their reach is tremendous though since they are one of the most popular sites in Singapore. -

Hi,
Actually, I never saw myself as a "politician" although I participated in the GE.
Those in the know can attest that until very close to the GE when the AMK contest was mooted and I was called to fill in the last blank spot, I was not slated to do house visits in a potential candidate capacity but merely as an accompanying "bellboy" taking notes while residents spoke to the potentials and arranging / planning visits for other potentials.
I am a member political party though but I try not to extensively promote the party. Hope I can be seen as a normal forummer.

I think terms like dogs and other derogatory ones can be left out. Whats the point of trading insults. In the end people are just going to leave and stop contributing. Altho a Gazelle supporter, I am supportive also of alternative and opposing views as long as it serves as a voicebox for those who are too shy to voice up.
