      SINGAPORE: Only a quarter or 24 per cent of all drivers in Singapore incur daily Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges.

      Speaking in Parliament on Monday, Transport Minister Raymond Lim said this means the majority, who are not affected, are actually better off with the 15 per cent cut in road tax implemented in conjunction with the ERP changes.

      Pointing out that the increase in ERP revenue is estimated at S$70 million against S$110 million from the road tax reduction, Mr Lim said this means a net revenue shortfall of S$40 million for the government.

      Mr Lim was responding to questions brought up by Marine Parade GRC MP Lim Biow Chuan and Ang Mo Kio GRC MP Dr Lam Pin Min on the recent ERP hikes, coming at a time of rising living and fuel costs.

      They had also asked whether the government would put a freeze on further increases in ERP charges.

      Wonder if it is possible for them to one day have damn a lot of gantries, but COE totally removed or price of COE cut drastically.

      Talk nonsense, why not abolish rd tax , suck so much $$ from us, then now say benefit us. !!! Tak Boleh Tahan.

      This Mah Boh Chee said he would abolish road tax when ERP came into effects many years ago,but so good $,how to let go!!!!!

      raymond lim talked nonsense, like he is doing a great favor to all of us. $40m less is still $70m to the government coffers. it is as if the charter of the government is to profit from the people.

      we seriously have a big problem in our hand with folks of this mindset in the government.

      This Raymond Lim makes himself so great.    Unfortunately, not every Singaporean is an idiot to believe in every word he says.    

      These despotic ministers are paid millions to talk cock, so simple job.

      They have overcome the barrier , they have developed super thick skin and kill their own conscience in order to take all sorts of comments.
