More population expected aft MRT Downtown Line 123 completed in 2013,5,6
More FT & higher GDP aft MRT DTL 123 completed 2013,5,6
we can ride Downtown MRT line earlier as follows--
Line 1,2013---bugis to china town via casino
Line 2,2015---Bugis to Bt panjang ,along Bt Timah Rd
Line 3,2016---China town to Expo, via Macpherson ,Bedok Reservoir.
Stations in brown are interchange.
MAP OF SINGAPORE DOWNTOWN LINE 1,2,3(DTL1 , 2 ,3)
We can expect---
1.The prices differences in property due to lack of MRT access will be reduced.
2.More FT/PR will be allowed.
3.Higher GDP growth.
4.Better reasons to cut COE quota...more ERP?
cheers!!
....what fo u say?
The money spent on such infrastructure could be better use for health-care subsidies and welfare for the people.
The way I see it, the only party that benefit from this are the train operators.
3.Higher GDP growth.
The real GDP growth that takes into consideration inflation and other what nots versus the GDP growth that doesn't consider such factors?
More FT
Foreign workers, not FT.
FT is PAP propagandist term.
i afraid i must disagree with lionnoisy on this FT/FW issue
firstly- mostly new workers on the MRT now are malays, mostly Sg malays i think..if anyone noticed that, of course there are also some SG pple working there too..and i think the number is getting bigger because of this crisis.
secondly- with the GE on 2011/12, with this major spate of change in events can you be 100% sure that the FT/FW policy will be tweaked to overflooding them in here?
basically..it can go either way..politicial suicide or worst..why?? because of 2 reasons
1) when there is no longer any rich sg pple to migrate
2)after 1 happens, the breaking point from resentment to public backlash is not very far away for all people should that happens.
wil answer u guys later.

12 MRT stations for Bukit Timah by 2015
12 MRTs, sounds like waste of money.

Jobs creation mah..
Wished they could get the damn things up faster, the MRT's already too packed now.

the purpose is to pack you peoples up so that you can mingle around and get to understand FT or FW more.
now in train , left righ , front and back
can see many aliens from different planets
MRT rename as MART
Mass Alien Rapid transit

More MRTs more people get to use MRTs, so more crowded.
Last time the Bukit Timah people take bus.
Next time MRT.
It doesn't matter whether the PAP builds 10 MRTs or 20 MRTs or 1000 MRTs.
As long as they continue their policy of flooding the island with foreigners, the basic problem won't be solved.
Build more complex MRT lines. Next time, traveling from 1 end of the country to the other end using MRT will save a couple of seconds instead!
When can I get from Bedok to Yishun by train, without going through City Hall?

Next year.
From Bedok, East-West line to Paya Lebar, then Circle line to Bishan, then North-South line to Yishun.
Downtown line will not be the last.
Next, Thomson line will be completed in 2018 linking Woodlands to the new downtown @ Marina Bay. Eastern Region line will be completed in 2020 linking Changi to the new downtown @ Marina Bay.

I was thinking along the lines of the Jurong East connection to Kranji and Woodlands.
Will there be a line from Tampines or Pasir Ris through Ponggol to Yishun?

There is a plan for a future MRT line from Woodlands to Changi, passing thru Simpang, Seletar Aviation Hub, Punggol and Pasir Ris.
Simpang is planned as a future HDB town east of Yishun.
This planned MRT line is referred by many as the North Coast line. It is not officially announced, so no confirmation yet whether it will be build. If confirmed to build, it will only be completed after 2020.
The new Downtown Line seems to snake itself like a 'bus routing' to capture a largest possible passenger catchment area as possible without consideration for travel time from point to point.
Does it not look odd that the new Downtown Line should begin at Bukit Panjang and run southwards towards Beach Road, and instead of turning eastward - it loops towards Marina South, then westward towards Outram before taking on a "North-easterly" route that parallel the existing NE Line running along Serangoon-Punggol direction ?
It actually loops around to intersect itself between the proposed stops at "Little India" and "Bugis" to run towards Macpherson, and meet the EW Line at the Singapore Expo.
The "North-easterly" route is more like "north-east-east" and run between the NE Line and the East-West Line - where from the "Rochor" station it moves to serve the heavily populated along the "Jalan Besar-Kallang-Macpherson-Paya Lebar-Kaki Bukit-Bedok Reservoir" corridor.
Anyone from the Bukit Panjang station wishing to travel to the other end - that stop as tthe Singapore Expo - will be require an intermediate change at a connecting station, or ride the entire journey along a loop circuit.
The MRT is another revenue collecting system for the Government where it prides itself in generating revenue surplus not from any export services but from reaping in the money from Singaporean pockets.
Another service that locks Singaporeans already so dependent on the Government for a wide variety of essential and non-essential services that continue to generate profits for the Government.
No wonder it does not blink when US$100 Billion is lost in some foreign adventures - as there are more in the bigger picture and over the longer term where it comes from.
GOOD NEWS.

Those from Bukit Panjang and Bukit Timah going towards Expo, can alight at Rochor station where they can connect to DTL3. Rochor station will be an interchange serving both DTL2 and DTL3.
