no i wud nt do so since i unfortunately feel as though ive been on the recieving end of those racists remarks.
It's love. *shurgs* What to do?
But honestly, I think most parents are traditional & will say no to the r/s.

though I've met parents who were more acceptable to such stuff, I guess most parents are still generally racist. *sigh*
I'm not a parent, but I wouldn't discriminate. People should not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character. (Brownie points if you know what was paraphrased there).

My parents said that racism will never end too. I guess its due to the kind of people of different color that they've seen in their life or the imbedded racism that was told to them since young.
Nope. In this day and age, color is no longer an issue. Tasmanian or Chilean also no problem. Most important factor is they're in love.
And the fellow has his head screwed on the right places, his heart in the right places and a good sense of self worth, integrity.
Heh, but that's just me. ![]()
We try hard not to discriminate but deep-down inside there is always this uneasy feeling.
Racism will never end simply because people will never stop stereotyping. It is through stereotyping that we form our prejudices and racism is the most extreme form of prejudice.
Thus the only question to be asked here is to what methods can we limit such prejudice attitudes and thus promote tolerance.

OMG LITTLE CHILLI PADIS
Racism is in the blood.U can cover it by a smile, but it's deep inside like an animal instinct and the real cause of it is hate. And trying to belong to a group.

warning, it might be a little preachy, but got meaning behind it...
I wouldnt discriminate but would still warn my children (they are mixed blood) that there could be obstacles and people into interacial marriages would have to work harder than usual to make their marriage work.

Busting stereotypes would be the key, definitely. But for the traditional parents of the respective parties to leave their streotypes at the door, the couple would really create a lasting impression if the different languages of their respective parties are learnt.
For example, consider an indian and chinese pairing. The indian could learn how to speak mandarin whereas the chinese could learn how to speak in tamil. That would definitely eliminate some stereotypes associated with both parties.
why? you dating an indian guy?
I wouldn't discriminate...
IMO, race isn't a problem in between love...
but the religious that is the problem...
call me selfish or racist, i will definitely not wanting my kids to marry someone wif diff race.
What is meant by "indian skinned"? do you know indians come in different colours? and for god sakes' not all indians speak tamil.
If true love nvm, if my daughter dates a angmoh, i would try to break them up.. cause i scared she is a SPG
i'm not racist but i would prefer if she went for someone of the same skin.
my parents are fine with colour as long as the met with certain conditions..
this kind of scenario i always have problem with the gal's parent side
