NS depressing me.......

help! been posted to my unit and hated virtually everything there. The one thing dat i especially cannot stand is dat I will lose my freedom for my next 2 years over there and with confinements+extras I might not even bookout at all. Feeling especially depressed when I'm about to go back to camp, dat place like jail to me.like being jailed for 2 years.......how? can any laojiao tell me how to tahan the 2 yrs? 2 yrs veri veri veri long leh.................................

first thing u can do is to get rid of is that mentality u have.
u are only aggrevating your 'suffering' because you're already accepted that you are 'suffering' in camp.
go in with a positive outlook and it will end soon enough.
and basically 'higher ups' like to aim people with mentality like yours. -
learn to enjoy NS.

NS is not really tat bad loh, keep low profile, stay out of trouble....treasure ur weekends and sleep....
keep ur gf, if u ever have one....they run away easy

cum on la..... if u can tolerate the life in NS then go AWOL la... but i can tell u tat goin AWOL is the most tupid thing to do..... 2 yrs time will flee beri fast.... if sum1 can be tied up for mani years in serving NS without making any noise, why cant u do the same/??

Just be low profile ... respect higher ranking personnel ... and dont do anything stupid during your NS life.....Punishment for serious offences are much more jialat in the army than outside. Court Marshall and Detention Barracks (DB). -

I admit that NS is a kinda disadvantage for males in Singapore~~
there are pros and cons in everyway~
like many say you will be a total diff man when u come out of NS~
NS may be F**ked up~ but it really trains u on ur mental and physical in someway~ learn how to tolerate more~~ it's a neccessary road for every guys~ so bear it brudder~

Time doesn't fly in NS. Time flies when you are out of NS.
Take it as paying back to your nation. Take it with pride< although they make you do stupid things and all those stupid rules>. -

I think in NS, what is key is the social circle around you. Having good friends around you in NS can really make things soooo much easier. Can talk together, work together, relax together and obviously, complain together (will probably do the last thing the most often), which makes NS less of a stressful place to be. Then again, I was an office clerk, so I got to go home pretty much most of the time!
Ok, so maybe my NS life was easier than most, but still, I think everybody will agree that its when being with your fellow mates that makes NS enjoyable, however little enjoyment that may be. -

i concur with wangc... get to know friends.. they'll get u thru the 2 years.. not only get thru it, good friends will make it a memorable 2 years.. make the most of the 2 years.. it's a time good for reflection and planning ahead.. -
me oso nw NS....but lucky for me...me is CD..heehee...me nw on MC...mus report 2 camp on Fri...yah...2yrs v.fast!! mine is 2 -1/2 yrs leh....cos they regonise my dilp....hai....wad to do....hope can kena firefighter!!!heehee
