well local bodybuilder... maybe do research din really sit many European bsues..lolsOriginally posted by Powered_By_CNG:Looking at the interior photo, these buses seem to have many shortcomings, which I will try to describe.
1. There seems to be a lack of staunchions in the front (low-floor) section for people to hold on to. This will lead to people falling over in the event of sharp acceleration or braking.
2. The doors are too narrow, restricting passenger flow as well as making it impossible for larger wheelchairs and motorscooters to board.
3. The wheelchair ramp is even narrower.
4. There seems to be no seating in the front section. Better planning of the interior is needed.
5. The driver seems to have minimal, if any protection. A full wrap-around driver's cab is adviseable as it would make the driver's job much safer.

oh yeah u're right, the number of B7R's have increased on inter-state services and also on coaches, though scania still stands out.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:The B10M belonged to Cityliner. Malaysia do have a fair share of Volvo buses, the most common is the B7R.

Yes, every RapidKL bus has such seats except the recent 39 Mercedes-Benz additions (came in together with the Volvo's), which have been put on the 4 express servces, E1 to E4.Originally posted by Powered_By_CNG:Wow, those seats look rock-hard. Not something that will please the passengers (or me, for that matter).
I can sort of understand why they don't want so many seats though. I suppose the average number of passengers on these buses would be rather high given their short length, and therefore provision of standing capacity takes precedence over seating room. Still, my point about lack of staunchion still applies, and even more so, given the number of standees that will probably use these buses.

Dave

Cool! But how come new RapidKL buses have no rear window?Originally posted by ^tamago^:Yes, every RapidKL bus has such seats except the recent 39 Mercedes-Benz additions (came in together with the Volvo's), which have been put on the 4 express servces, E1 to E4.

You can see from the interior photo of the merc that the last row of seats are very high.Originally posted by ^tamago^:i dunno, everyone of them doesn't have windows, from 1st batch until the current 8th batch... from dongfeng to higer (king long) to an yuan to merc to volvo....![]()
anyway, it seems like the hard seats are a default option.Originally posted by Powered_By_CNG:Wow, those seats look rock-hard. Not something that will please the passengers (or me, for that matter).

Yup. Those belonging to Southern River and regoed 1591 to 1650 look nicer than the earlier O500s.Originally posted by Powered_By_CNG:One thing's for sure guys, those Malaysian-bodied buses certinly wouldn't meet the current Australian Design Rules (ADRs). For a better example of an accessible bus interior, refer to photos of Transperth 1854 when it went to Singapore for a demonstration tour a few years back. The interior design of our Volgren mercs has further improved since 1854 was built, however.

yeah. but these express buses dun really get crowded since they're premium services so still okay. kind of like our habit bendies.Originally posted by stooper:You can see from the interior photo of the merc that the last row of seats are very high.
But they do have CCTV which i find it quite useful for reversing or speedingOriginally posted by Raraken:Cool! But how come new RapidKL buses have no rear window?
No lah, I mean maybe because the seats are very high, that's why no rear window. You can compare the seat height with the side windows.Originally posted by ^tamago^:yeah. but these express buses dun really get crowded since they're premium services so still okay. kind of like our habit bendies.
sentosa B7RLE's got rear windows or not ah....Originally posted by stooper:No lah, I mean maybe because the seats are very high, that's why no rear window. You can compare the seat height with the side windows.
