Emission standards for diesel vehicles to Euro 4 in June '06

Emission standards for diesel driven vehicles will be raised to Euro 4 from the current Euro 2 standards.
The government initially wanted to raise the standard to Euro 3 in the past 2 years but scrapped the idea due to the economy downturn.
Taxi operators are also encouraged to use CNG taxis. -

err...i think none of the buses except 2688 and 1689 can pass the test leh...the rest only Euro2 std leh...so all must replace..??

All SBST buses purchased after 1993 have engine emissions which complied to the Euro 2 and above standards.
As for the new Euro 4 standards for vehicles, I think its for the purchase of new vehicles and not the existing fleet.

However, i seriously doubt that Dennis Lances are Euro II compliant. Just look at the black sooty exhaust when it just starts moving from the bus stop! -

The Mark 2s, CRBs and the O405s were bought between 1987 and early 90s, so they can't comply, even with Euro-1 engine standard. Or have the engines re-modified to comply with the Euro-2 standard?

The Mark 2s, CRBs and the O405s were bought between 1987 and early 90s, so they can't comply, even with Euro-1 engine standard. Or have the engines re-modified to comply with the Euro-2 standard?
