I heard from my uncle who was a PTI back in the 70's that you wont be allowed to hold a rifle if you have sweaty palms ? how true is that and what does the army deal with such cases ?

Dunno about last time, but this is no longer the case. Having said that profuse perspiration for no good reason could be a symptom of something more serious. As an eaxmple, one of my BMT mates sweated buckets for no good reason. He was found to be having anxiety attacks. Hence, excused firearms.

There is no official directive in barring Sweaty palms from Grenades and rifles (Firearms).
However, if it is of special concern for you, you may inform your PC about it and he will take note of your problem during high risk activities/ -
