AWOL Case in OCS this yr ?

Hi guys,
was reading up the OCS website. and from the latest news on the Commanders Parade, the School commander was addressing this issue abt a cadet going AWOL.
Can anyone shed somelight on this matter ? I do believe training should not be so xiong as before as they will AWOL right ? -
only heard of cadets playing with their swords a few hours juz before commissioning..
end up all nv get commissioned.

hmm thats was in the old days.my batch was smart enough to either lock their swords up or just bring the sword home.
