ICT Notification
As an NSman, you may be called up for NS activities for not more than 4 hours during the first 6 months after you completed full-time NS. Every NS work year, you may be called up to a maximum of 40 days of Operationally Ready National Service (NS). You may also be called up for more than 40 days in one work year. However, you and your employer must first agree to the extended service and sign an undertaking to indicate your acceptance of the arrangement.
The duration of your call-up may last either less than 6 days (Low-Key Training) or 7 days and above (High-Key Training).
Before your NS training begins, a notification will be sent to you 6 months in advance. This advance notification is given before every callup to minimise disruption and inconvenience to your schedule.
If you do not attend your scheduled NS training, you will be tagged as being Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) from your place of duty and subject to disciplinary action.

yeah TS...sometimes using mindef workyear to count beri confusing sometimes...TS should count going by number of HK/LK cleared...no matter how many times being called up per workyear as long as long u clocked up 7HK/3LK minimum consider yaself to be MR liao..
minimum 7 days or more then considered HK... NSHRC briefed us in an ICT b4...
and oh ya, even if u kena 2 or 3 HK ICT in a workyear, it will still only registered as 1 HK cleared in a workyear in the NS computer systems... Mindef is smart...
dun say mindef smart okay...they are obviously exploiting us!!

Kindly state ur source if there is any.
From my understanding, there is no such thing. If you 2 or 3 HK ICT in a work year, it's registered 2 or 3 HK ICT.

I think so, this is also my understanding. dun think of earning so much one day then you dun need to do. I think it's an urban legend that if you earn a lot, you are exempt from ICT. there are plenty of rich CEOs who drive to camp in their S class and lambos for ICT.
Thanks for everyone comments, anymore opinions regarding whether 2 HK ICT per work yr consider as 2 HK Cycle or only 1 HK Cycle completed?
I will try to call my unit again next monday since today is a PH.

You are liable to be called up for a maximum of 40 days in a year irregardless of whether it is high key or low key or a combinations. To my understanding, that means we have to attend ICT for a total minimum period of 10 years before being discharge to MR.
and i got a question here : as far as i know NSmen also have the tendacy to be called up for NDP stuffs right? usually which combat formation will kena the most?
the organising divisional formation for that particular year lor...
You are a commando or diver?
from www.ns.sg
Operationally Ready NSmen are a vital part of the SAF and forms the core fighting force. Each year, you will be called up for in-camp-training for two to three weeks to maintain your individual proficiency as well as to build unit cohesion. Such training ensures the highest level of operational readiness in the SAF. From 1 April 2006, you need to serve only 10 years of ICT. You will also be activated regularly for mobilisation exercises.
To ensure that NSmen can strike a balance between the competing demands of NS duties, family and work, you will be called up for no longer than the period required to meet the training objectives.
While NSmen can be called up for a maximum of 40 days of NS in a work year, in practice, an NSman is generally called up for not more than 14 days for local training, or 21 days for overseas training in your high-key training year. MINDEF has also restricted the number of times an NSman can be called up for NS duties to a maximum of three times per work year and ensure that notices for call ups are also provided at least 6 months in advance of the training commencement date.
pls note that 1 year can have 2 high key ict,
1 work year for mindef is from eg(1 apr 09 to 30 mar 10),
u can have 1 high key let say in feb2009 and then another one in nov2009, although both in year 2009, but is consider 2 working year in mindef
