i think its more of how they grade the passing to become an officer.....

is like you can always apply to be in sepcial military school....but does not necessary means you will make the cut.

    • Aw come on. You guys have no idea what happens in command schools. The senior officers are fond of saying that “there is no CAT 1 under canopy”. Which means that even with a lightning storm, people are ’ safe ’ under the canopy. So its very likely that they were kind of following a directive.

Besides.. SAF is never wrong. Its always determined that the trainees who do not comply with safety regulations. But really..

Well I think this applied to places where lightning is not prone to happen. But here? These are officers they should be more intelligent.....but in this case I think they should have more common sense. If you cannot stop halfway, you should advice the trainees to continue until they find some place safe to rest, not under the tree. If they continued and got stuck by lightning, cannot help accident happened. But this is asking for it.

    • when lightning strikes a tree, the liquid in the tree gets heated up, causing the trunk to explode. the bark of the tree flies all over the place like shrapnel from a hand grenade...

We know that lightning strikes the highest object in our vicinity. its not the lightning that injured them but probably the bark...
