      John Arne Riise leaves Liverpool for AS Roma

      John Arne Riise's seven seasons with Liverpool are over after AS Roma agreed a deal to sign the defender on a four-year contract, according to the Serie A club.

      i feel more excited hearing this compared to the time we bought torres tongue.png

      do follow up with more details tho, like how much Roma paid for him.

      3.96 million.

      He may have lost form but lets not forget that he gave us 7 of his best years as a footballer to Liverpool. He scored around 1 goal every 10 games in playing 300+ games for us, a good return for a defender. He scored some memorable goals like the one against Barcelona, against Chelsea etc.... He is not a good riddance. He has never given us problems and was a professional throughout. I think he will be missed. As a footballer, he should leave cos he seems to have reach a plateau and going away will do us good and himself good too but as a Liverpool player, he should be respected for his contributions to this great football club.

      byebye riise, you have been someone wonderful throughout the years. well, anw, thanks for you last own goal at anfield which indirectly cost us our spot to the 2008 CL finals. all e best. take care.

      I tend to remember him for his spectacular goals and long throws! Did not recall him giving problems like the rest (e.g. Kewell)....

      Agreed he should move on....

      i think Rafa creating a team with players capable on both legs ....

      Riise has exposed his weakness on his capability on his right legs .

      onli problem now is liverpool no more natural left footed players with riise and kewell gone. sian liao la

      i've been supporting liverpool for the past 10 yrs and riise was one of my fave players. it is damn frustrating to watch him play like he does last season, it's totally unlike him. therefore, this is real good news, rafa didnt hog him and ask for a high price, and im sure riise wud perform better with a change of environment. best of luck to him.

      its a waste riise wasn't able to do what he did when he first came to the club.

      especially that shot against man utd.

      maybe because he played too well in the beginning, that's why people start to feel he's played badly recently.
