Movie and Drama Review

One of my favourite past-time is to watch movies and drama, so I intent to write a reviews and recommendation of the movies and drama I have watched. These are usually Hong Kong, Japanese and Korean drama and movies.
I will rate them with stars and my personal feeling after watching
5 stars - highly recommended
4 stars - recommended
3 stars - can watch
2 stars - don't waste your time but I finished them because I'm bored
1 star - probably won't happened because I would have abandon that show already

Believing that the letters are hints about their mothers and the mystery about their father death, they begin reading the books, and before they know it, they start imagining themselves as the novels' heroines.
My Rating :
My Review : Excellent storyline and photography. Some of the peoms are indeed beautiful even when translated in mandarin. You need to watch until the last chapter to discover the truth of their mothers but be warned of some erotic scene in the drama.

The story centers around a young woman who was married to each other because he was the only man she was closed with living in the countryside. One morning, she went to a shop to look for a gift for her husband, she ended up having a realtionship with a stranger. For the first time, she had a feeling unknown to her. When the husband confided to her that he had quit his finance job to persue his dream to be a cook, she confided to him her affair. Things took our for the worse when that stranger was a chef invited by her husband to assist him with his new business and that the stranger will also be staying with them.

My Review : Beautiful photography. The actress was able to act out her naivie innocence

SONG Soo-jung is a producer going on her third year at a small company. Her specialty is human interest stories. She is driven to produce these shallow stories for the sake of her ambition of one day becoming Korea’s own Oprah Winfrey. However, she is reaching the end of what’s left of her pride. One day, after months of not getting paid, she leaves her office with the company camera to produce a story on a lion apparently refusing to eat its meal. On her way, however, she comes across a robber, but she is saved somehow by Superman in a Hawaiian shirt. “Superman” claims he’s unable to tap into his supernatural powers as the bad guys have placed kryptonite inside his head. However, he doesn’t let that get in his way from helping others, from saving the world from global warming to saving a lost puppy. Soo-jung can see this will make a good story and, with a little tweaking and a little fabricating, she produces the Superman Saves the World documentary which goes on to be a ratings hit. However, the true story behind this “Superman,” including the bullet and not the kryptonite that is lodged in his brain, helps the frosty, calculating Soo-jung to awaken to what’s truly important in life.

My Review : Man have been too busy and selfish in themselves that many cannot be bother or would not stop to help even when needed. Others would think that those acting out in a way that is not their norm should be corrected the way they think it should be so.

Title: Tetsuo: The Iron Man
Japanese Movie - 1989
Synopsis: A salaryman runs over a metal fetishist who just inserted a metal bolt into his own femur. The salaryman then tries to cover it up by dumping the corpse into a ditch. The salaryman then starts to mutate into a metallic mess, while he is chased by a woman who has been taken over by the spirit of the metal fetishist and bent on vengence. In the midst of this, the salaryman is making out with his girlfriend but his penis mutates into a metal drill and the girlfriend dies a gruesome death.
THEN it gets weird...
My rating:
My review: Absolute weirdness with an hard driving industrial soundtrack. A must-watch for the weird art/indie movie fan. There is a sequel which was not worth the celluloid it was shot on.

The drama about the love life of an old maid, Oh Eun Joo. She has been working at a book publishing company for seven years. Eun Joo forms a love triangle with Tae Oh and Young Soo. Tae Oh is younger than Eun Joo by seven years and Young Soo is a businessman who Eun Joo meets on a blind date. Eun Soo is reluctant in letting Tae Oh meet her friends because of their huge age gap. This causes a rift in their relationship because Tae Oh thinks that Eun Soo doesn't take him seriously. At the same time, Eun Soo continues to see Young Soo and there's something about him that draws her closer to him.
My rating:
My review: I was inspired to watch this one after Zoragirl recommended me to watch the Taiwanese version 败犬女王 of similar plot . I have prejudice toward taiwanese drama thus haven't taken up the offer.
Anyway, this drama is interesting as it reflects the idea/problems of �弟�. Problems such as hiding the relationship from friends, colleagues and relatives. Also problems with money and mentality of the younger guy. Very realistic in the social problems although in real suitation, the problem could be even more.

The story centers around a late 30 young single man who is a radio DJ of popular talk show. His programme includes giving advice to young people who have problems. One of his regular was a teenage single mother who had a 4 years old son. When she seek his advice on whether she should go back to her father, he strongly approved of it.

Then one day, a teenage girl with his son came knocking at his door and claimed that he is her father and the little boy grandfather. From then on, all hell broke loose.

My Review : Light hearted comedy. Anyway, the song were pretty nice

The story starts in a town in Kagawa Prefecture, home to 1 million residents and 900 udon restaurants.
Kosuke Matsui - an aspiring comedian and son of an udon noodlemaker - hates his small-town life, but hates udon even more because he believed that his father passion for udon making cause nelgect and hardship to his dead mother.
After a fight with his father, he goes to New York to launch his dream career as a stand-up comedian, but six years and one massive debt later he is forced to go home.
When he returns, he finds nothing has changed -- his sister still worries about him, his father is still pounding away at noodles, his friends are the same, and there's still a bowl of warm udon waiting for him when he gets home.
To repay his debt, he works at a publishing company where he meets Kyoko. Together they write a column about udon, which surprisingly kicks off an udon sensation across Japan, changing their lives. Especially Kosuke's.

My Review : Watch this on TV sometime back. Very Interesting. To think that a whole movie can be made with just the subject Udon. A whole sleepy Japan was awaken by Udon noodles.

My Review : I should kick my butt for even finishing watching this. The plot was weak without continuity. The only thing that kept me going was the suspense of finding out who was the killer. This show deserve one star but since I finished it, I gave it another.

My Review : A light hearted comedy, although the last part touches my soft spot. Can you imagine what love can do?
