From how I see it, Samsung will be the next big thing until Apple pulls itself back up or maybe Nokia will overtake with Lumia...

Problem is the OS, if more ppl were to use Windoze fone, Nokia might have a chance but now it's a clash between iOS and Andriod... Nokia is just being stubborn... That said, I do know of a recent small surge of ppl getting the new Lumia though... No idea why...

Sony will have to reorganise itself as a whole... The recent manpower axing few months ago and few other things is making itself quite messy... Even internally, Sony is in a big reorg mess and they are losing money and business as times goes by...

Nowadays U dun see Sony mobile shops... There is only Sony Centre which carries alot of stuff but only a few model (or even none) of mobile phones... It's quite sad and they would really really really have to buck up...

      Price too high...

      U lower price I buy...

It's always a supply-demand thing... But sellers are always tie-ing prices to the most expensive deal they can find, eg: I once sold a flat for 1.5m, therefore, the market price is 1.5m...

Where reality, it could only be a one-time-off goondu buyer but of coz, they are rather self delusional and can only wait for carrots to walk in...

Face it, watever shyt valuation is nthing, if no one is willing to buy at that price... maybe u have 1 or 2 or a few, but u wont have optimal occupancy...

This is the way people (seller) are nowadays...

Not only in real life, but interestingly, in the virtual world, situations are the exact same thing...

Actually you're right in a sense.

Nexus 4 was by LG, Nexus 7 was by Asus, and the upcoming Galaxy Nexus will be made by Samsung.

Google wants to diversify its tie-ups instead of committing itself to just one company.

    • Anyway, with regards to my laptop hunt, I was salivating over this all weekend:

      ThinkPad X1 Carbon

It can be summed up as 'MacBook Air, on steroids, with an ultra-strong chassis'.

But again, cost is an issue.... for Core i7 with an SSD, I'm looking at $2.6k from the cheapest local distributor I can find.

Even importing it direct from the US will still set me back $2.3k. Gotta pay GST to ICA. icon_evil.gif

I'd plump for the Nexus 4 if LG products didn't have a history of premature failure in our household. The Lumia has a lot going for it in terms of hardware, build quality and design, but not the OS.

If you need it soon it'll be worth it, especially if it comes with an international warranty. $300 is still a lot of money.

      It's the classic chicken-or-the-egg problem.

In order to get more apps created, more people must use Win 8.

But there needs to be more apps before people will use Win 8.

Unless Microsoft can somehow seduce the other major phone companies away from Google, it looks as though Nokia is going to be the only major user of Win 8 for phones.

Even what apps they have pale in comparison to their Android counterparts. The official FB, Twitter and Whatsapp are buggy and slow to update, according to the reviews in the Windows store itself.

I'm not big on apps but this might be a dealbreaker unless there's an improvement in the next 2 months - or if someone makes an Android hack.

It's not going to happen unless MS allows its users to access what stuff they had on Android, instead of making start from scratch on Windows. Who wants to go through the hassle of transfering their stuff to SkyDrive and Outlook?
