that's really impressive

Oh... that's interesting. I doubt it will ever happen here.

hmmz interesting. But somehow seems very prone to abuse and the others pay for the mistakes of the person.
cases of emergency is fine, but if that guy is late because he played games too late and overslept? Or that person is just late for his date because he didn't bother to move out early.....

Yes, but you have to understand their culture. Their college exams also very stressful, with tens of thousands of applicants fighting for a few places. The exam period is at a certain period of time each year, and they do know that if they abuse the system, they will spoil the market and cause others to lose the privilege..
You must remember that not every culture is like Singapore, with the 'Me First' and 'Me Only' syndrome which serves to extract the best possible privileges and benefit for oneself even if it means at the expense of others.
This is why motoring here is not as pleasant as other countries. Don't have to say so far until Korea. Even up north, I daresay quite a far bit of Msian drivers are a heck load more gracious than local ones.
Yes agreed with nightsky87,Majority Malaysian drivers will give way or even slow down for you to filter out from a busy lane. They're are more generous if you wave indicating Thank You.But in KL there's different stories,Half of the Drivers there are somewhat similiar to Singaporean,Quite Kiasu but they don't misuse their horn or headlights often as much as we do here..
in sg having a car is like pride to us ma....
very car conscience mentality....agree?
singapore very different rah.

No worries, after a few days back in the singaporean motoring mentality, you'll be back to 'normal', ![]()

Maybe our driving centres might want to tweak their syllabuses to focus on graciousness and defensive driving skills rather than just imparting the technical knowledge of driving. ![]()
