SINGAPORE: Train services at several MRT stations near Jurong East Station could be affected for a few days next month.
Channel NewsAsia understands that the services could be disrupted due to
work on a new platform and track at Jurong East MRT station.
The new structure aims to ease congestion during peak hours and space constraints.
This project is called "Jurong East Modification Project" (JEMP).
Construction is nearly complete and the signal and power system will be modified next month.
Channel NewsAsia understands the changes to the signal and power system
could affect stations such as Bukit Batok, Bukit Gombak, Boon Lay,
Pioneer and Joo Koon.
And this could happen on September 4-5 and 18-19.
Meanwhile, commuters are looking forward to the completion as it will mean faster and smoother travel.
