    • Does the trains actually have lightning rods?

Do you think the train configuration T-M-M-M-M-T engine is good?

      1. No, but the tracks do
      2. Why is it bad? It works pretty well.

    • To reply Jcqh's reply as stated on first post of this thread:

Seen before at HBF, PSR, DBG (Posted by YY recently). Not sure if there are others.

      (My Question was

Can anybody verify where is the place where the train are parked at the overrun of a terminus / slidings instead of depot?

List the line, and the terminus as well. Thank you.)

Well, is overrun in HBF (NEL) and PSR (EWL) are places for regular parking? Or is DBG (CCL) even  got such regular trains parked at overrun of a station / terminus? (Meaning is it a common sight for most of the days in the above mentioned location?)

All terminus have overrun tracks for parking except JUR and MRM.

So far I've seen trains parked at overrun tracks of HBF, DBG, PSR, JKN and PGL.

MRM? Do you mean Marymount (CCL) or Marina Bay (NSL)?

      To Dragonaxe:

Sengkang LRT will be park at depot unless it is non depot direction (STC -> SW1 (SE1) -> SE5 (SW8)) because there is no connection to depot for this side of track, unless they uses the slidings between Tongkang - Renjong or uses the crossover before Kangkar (From Bakau). For such cases, they will park at West Loop station, most notably at Cheng Lim, Farmway, Layar or Tongkang.

Punggol LRT will park at Punggol West LRT station as nobody (almost) can see it. (I have seen they parked at Nibong)

So in conclusion, the parking in overrun is common at night?

Update: So HBF do have trains do overnight parking? Or was it just a "crossover train" during "peak hour" (Recently in year 2010, I have seen none)

    • Hi, does anyone know what the "Brake OFF LOCAL (colour), BRAKE ON LOCAL (colour) ..." located near the walk-through carriage means? Thanks.

Brake off LOCAL - means the break is released and local refers to the carriage

Brake on Local - means the break is activated and local refers to the carriage

I would personally take #1. It's a long journey, and I'm sure you'll want a seat. It's much easier to get one on the NSL after Yishun or so, while almost impossible to get one on the EWL until Jurong East, and by that time, what's the point? icon_razz.gif But there really isn't much difference.

They're both long journeys either way. icon_lol.gif Go via transfer at Raffles Place then.

    • I got a question:

If a train do overnight parking @ overrun, such as @ Pasir Ris, then will there be a TO in that train, and does the TO walk to tracks to return PSR or just left the train "to die"? How the train return to depot / service in next day? Will a TO go all the way to overrun and drive the train?
