Hi guys! i need your advice..
asus have launched it's g55vw gaming laptop, just wondering if the laptop is worth it & when will it be released in sg?

Well, the question should be - shouldn't you concenrtate on your studies instead?
But anyways, there is no need to get a ROG (republic of gamer) laptop just for gaming.
Well since we are on the topic on Asus , Asus is a reputable company for laptops and realibiity - good specs too.
Here's an Asus alternative that I have posted about a few months back taken from the 2012 catalogue that they gave out the IT show.
As you can see, specs wise and price wise, yes the processor may not be as fast as the ROG. But looking at the graphics card memory etc, it is enough for an average gamer - on medium settings / high on older games
Price wise, it's definitely cheaper.
So why not?

Sometime you dun really need a laptop built for gaming to play your games.
Just a decent graphic card and ram will do for most games.
I do think that at the rate new graphic eating game is coming out, its better if you can learn to play game with lower setting

The basic model is 3000 bucks already. Can buy the lowest spec alienware, and still play every game in the market.
