Traffic Police have arrested a 20-year old driver following a high-speed pursuit along Seletar Expressway.
One of two officers who were pursuing him was also hurt after his motorcycle crashed into some railings during the chase.
The officer suffered back injuries and was sent to the National University Hospital where he received outpatient treatment.
The officers were patrolling along the expressway at around 1 this
morning when they spotted the suspect driving past the speed limit.
They went after him and signalled for him to stop.
But he continued speeding and tried to shake them off by weaving in and out of the lanes.
Police say, the driver made a sudden sharp swerve along Woodlands
Avenue 2, and this caused one of the officers to lose control of his
motorcycle, leading to the accident.
Undeterred, his partner continued pursuing the suspect who even drove against the flow of traffic along Woodlands Street 31.
The driver finally pulled over at Woodlands Avenue 1 and was arrested for dangerous driving.
It's believed he was also driving without a license.
If convicted of dangerous driving, first-time offenders could be jailed up to twelve months and fined a maximum of $3,000.
First-time offenders found guilty of driving without a valid license
could be jailed a maximum of three months or fined up to $1,000.

THe worst is he defy order to stop and causes injury to police officer. If he walks away without a jail term. I wonder what Singapore civil law system will turn into?
Still not known if he is some elite's son. If he is, do you still think he will go to jail?
No license, still can weave in and out of traffic.
Should get a punishment heavy enough to let him know that what he did puts the lives of other road users at risk.
he speeding then got noticed by TP, knowing he had no license and sure kena very jialet, of course he tried to make a run for it
