Actually I do not think it is upside down. I think it has merely been covered by the other poster.

I think if PAP continues the relentless immigration, sooner or later the Norway iccident might happen here. Or the rise of right wing political parties in Europe might happen in Singapore. Two possible scenarios. Luckily Singapore harder to get guns compared to USA and european countries.

The PAP govt is not afraid of such happening.  They are over confident it is impossible to happen here afterall the Singaporeans are so kiasu kiasee kiachenghu.

Happened before, during colours when I was serving my nation....the offender was given seven weekend extras. No questions asked.

then the offender that hanged the flag upside down can be given a 7 weekends hanging flags.

Once during CO parade, the flag bearers screwed up big time. They put the national flag on the right flagpole instead of the central flagpole.

My CO gathered all of the flag bearers and threatened them with DB. In the end, he decided to go easy on them..... by giving them 21x extra.

Mine is regular personnel screw up....must be more lenient........not only for face, but for morale within the family.

Wasn't one of our Serve and F-off personnel.

7x weekend is quite jialat for them.

Its actually quite easy to make that mistake when you are tired. I once hooked the flag up wrongly. Thanfully, out of habit, I made a last minute check when they called out "1 minute to colours"....and HORRORS, the flag was hooked upside down. And I fumbled to correct it and sweat buckets.

But the worst incident I had was when the c*cksters painted the flagpole and then hauled up the flag before the paint dried. And when it was sunset, I found that the flag could not be lowered and my flag was left waving merrily past 7 30pm till 3 of us managed to prise the string out of the solidified paint. Much to the horror of the conducting officer.

How long has the flag been up side down before it was spotted?

Do CCs raise and lower the flag daily, such that it is only the day's mistake.

One month has four weeks. So 21x extra is just over five months.

As harsh as that was, it was either that or three weeks of DB.
