Pulut panggang? It's been a while since I had some but it wasn't difficult to find.
My absolute favourites are bakwan kepiting (crab meatballs and bamboo shoots) and hati babi bungkus (pork liver wrapped in webs, served with luak chye).
sayur lodeh is malay...
pernkan food is bad.....but laksa and otah are great!the rest can be used as survival food.

Such a shame that you tried some shite excuses for peranakan food there.
what is meant by "bad"? because it doesn't suit your tastebuds? because you're not used to it? like KB, i don't think these are "excuses" to run it down

bad.....as in why some food taste sweetish when its supposed to be meat dumpling.i have lived and eaten in katong area when british were around and i find that the nonya food isnt exctlypopular in food stalls....its not selling well apart from the laksa and otah.i think not all perankan food are delicious to me.like as in all chinese food are not delicious to me.there the chinese roast duck rice, char siew rice etc.
but laksa and otah which i believe is nonya is tastier if im given a plate of duck rice or char siew rice.so dont be offended.

See, I told you that you haven't tried all these unique dishes. Hati babi bungkus is one of the few that are hard to get - you can find itek tim, nasi ulam, pong tauhu, babi pongteh, kuah ladah, kueh paiti etc quite readily.
Nyonya kee chang is sweet because of the use of candied melon peels (at least when it's properly done)
Babi ponteh by my dad, and assam gulai ikan pari at my local chup fun.
Heh, you want good Peranakan food, come to Penang. ^^
