    • Welcome, basically there are a few groups

      1) CityMaxi (about 100+ Maxicabs in this group)

      2) Star Vito (about 100 Pte Vito/Viano , Highroof and also handful of Alphards)

      3) Eagle (about 30-40 plus Pte Vito and A few Maxicab)

My advice is to join a group that has many callers, ie drivers who have too many jobs that he can't handle and has to page out thru the walkie network. But, page out jobs, if the group is too big, there will be a lot of competition for that job, a lot of callers usually take care their kaki first, ie underwater, if kaki cannot do, then the page out.

Rates for Maxicab is $50 but there is always a GST to the caller or to whoever, have to be prepared. MDT jobs also got GST!

I heard the queue to get he Maxi is very long and the daly rental for the new Viano is $155, so if you just sweep the floor alone, not easy to make a good profit.

But anyway, welcome to Maxi driving... You have to drive to feel how t is, I can't advice you too much, but at least better than taxi as taxi is only metered fare. Maxi can sweep, can do limo jobs and can d disposal. Wish you all the best!

    • old one....... i haven't figure out an excuse to go for the new one.

The main attractiveness is....... i can drive less.

I just getting very sick of driving the Wish, or normal cab. The operational method are too exhausting and time consuming.

    • Well, if you have decided... then just go ahead....

      Just like me...

When I decided to go into Pte Limo....

my risk is high as I may end up w/o a regular contract.... luckily it was signed in October 2011 ( 1 month after I took the vehicle ).

it is very difference from your situation, this Maxi is only 1 week liability..... $707

Yours if not careful, your investment could become a long term liability, recovery time is talking about years.

Fyi, Mercedes Vito, Viano weighs only (approximately) 2,300kg even for the longest version (long wheel base, like Sam & I is driving now).

Vito has 3 versions.  Normal, Long, Extra Long.

MaxiCabs belongs to Long version (which is about 24cm shorter than the Extra Long) @ around 5m.

But due to the weight of the vehicle, it is still NOT classified as heavy vehicle.

Hence, you can still drive with Class 3 driving licence.

      As for your other question....

Pte Vito / Viano / Toyota Hiace High Roof are the alternative of Maxicab.

We still provide transportation services to passenger going to the AP or doing Arrival Jobs.

but strictly no picking passengers from the street becos we are not ....

       anymore.

All jobs are privately arranged or page out from the walky talkie.

Hopfully the above answers - answered your query.

Yes... totally agreed with your analyse.  If no installment to pay = no liability right ? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

      Well....

the daily operational cost is lower than CDG rental (considering the Viano grade).

I purchased at $128,988 for 10yrs. ( plus insurance & road tax, excluding maintainance ), my daily operational cost is only at $43.50, for a Brand New Viano.  where to find ? icon_lol.gif

    • Interests from financing loan not included becos I got no financing. icon_mrgreen.gif ( Sam, you agree with me ?)

so can stay at home (if no jobs).... and...

when you had fully paid, the liability is limited to parking, road tax and insurance only.

But the full capital you had outlay, is blood and sweat from the past, and properly only a discipline thrifty life style could accumulate to such figure, salute you on this.

    • If cabbies learn to cut losses from gambling, women, smoking and drinking, it is possible to save this amount after 7 years.

      But very rare lah.
