Should Lucky Plaza be redeveloped?

Wonder how many of you really do shop at Lucky Plaza? I feel that most (singaporeans) do not even enter the place even though we always walk past it. Most shops in fact caters to tourists and fillipinos.. and i also notice it has a rather high vacancy rate.
It's one of the oldest and ugliest shopping mall and the fact that it situates at the most centralised portion of the Orchard road belt, makes me wonder why the management hasnt really embark on any significant renovation and refurbishing. The interior state is also rather pathetic, with ceilings looking so yellowish and tiles broken..Even the "younger" Wisma Atria has gotten itself a new and bold facade!
I wonder its dilapitated state has anything to do with that it caters to a large number of fillipinos....??
Anyway, it's HIGH time Orchard road needs a change! What do u guys think? -

But im just curious as to why other buildings all look newer and younger than Lucky Plaza and isit because the plaza caters more to fillipinos. Have u ever gone into the place, its really ulu...dark...weird smelling esp at the upper levels..and its SO different from the other malls along the street. -

i say don't redevelop, i hate all the digging and hoarding and mess.

the weird smell comes from food...
everytime i go there from lunch.. i smell like i just walk past a kopi tiam... dunno y.. my hair catches those greasy smell.. no matter how not obvious they are... -
A lot of maid agencies & shops selling cheap souvenirs & watches, cameras, nothing interesting.
Lucky Plaza really needs a revamp- both exterior & interior. -
