Wow... you really like fountain pen alot...Originally posted by Gedanken:The five pens I use on a regular basis are:
Cross Townsend in Titanium/Gold and Quartz Blue lacquer/Rhodium
Waterman Phileas
Waterman Apostrophe
Montblanc Meisterstuck Chopin Platinum
The Phileas is the cheapest of the lot, but its medium nib makes it the easiest to write with. The Townsends aren't too bad either, but the capillary feed is sensitive to the type of ink used - you can tell the difference when writing with Cross or Parker ink (the Parker flows more smoothly, but builds up deposits more easily). The Apostrophe is a fine nib and is quite scratchy to write with, but the Meisterstuck is the worst of the lot - ink either doesn't flow or it lays it on so thick it takes ages to dry.
I like pens with a bit of weight to them, and the brass barrels of the Townsends and Apostrophe have the edge here over the resin of the Phileas and the Meisterstuck.
Overall, I find the Towsends the best to use on a daily basis (given that I use the right ink), while the Meisterstuck ranks last.

A matter of necessity, really - my handwriting's terrible, and fountain pens require me to hold them and write properly.Originally posted by caleb_chiang:Wow... you really like fountain pen alot...
No, but I do a fair bit of corporate work. I'm just fussy about details like pens and watches to go with the suits:Originally posted by davidche:omg are you like those high class business men?
