China teens are more giving than us?

I've had an encounter in downtown fastfood outlet that seems to break all stereotype about rich china teens studying here that they are loud and proud.
It's my teabreak time so decided to have acuppa of coffee..a middle aged uncle came in selling tissue..Sg youths give him a kind of look and waved him off...
Surprisingly a china teen couple bought some tissues from him..what does this show?40 years of nation building and we pride ourselves as developed city state and yet can't spared a dollar or two to help the poor sg uncle...we criticise china kids but are sg kids more altustic towards poorer members of our countrymen..think about it:(
So what if sgkids speak better english than china kids now...in a decade or so they will too be billingual in their own cities maybe even better without the singlish

SG youths need to reflect upon themselves and asked what's the meaning of good grades and money making if our society are not caring..all of us need to too:(

I'm ashamed of myslef that I did not of course I did not have spare change then....and more so when the teenage couple from mainland china spared him a dollar or two for the tissues.
I looked at the sg couples looking at them thinking why they do this...maybe communism have taught them without caring for weaker members in their country...there will be turmoil and unrest ...but of course the china teens could be from the cities and hence more cultured and educated than the kampung ones.

I'm both sad and happy by this incident..sad that our own ppl don't help out each other me included....
Happy that not all chinese from mainland are snobbish and crass, so there's is hope for china despite the problems facing the progress like QC in milk production and other products ..

i always think singapore, the peer stress is too high, so it's not your fault, you have to compete with locals and FT, i don't know i think singaporean think the poor people are lossers, so by any chance, they may treat poor people not so good, but actually they are just unfortunate people. They are born in a poor family, get poor education, finally become poor people. I don't know whether i am right, it's just what i think

I feel sad that our uncles and aunties have to do this in modern rich SG island.They should be spending time with their grandkids and having a more productive lifestyle..not selling tisses and picking trash in downtown.

in whatever rich country, there always poor people, some place there are many poor people. If everyone is equally poor, then there is no poor relatively, the poor people become poor, only by compare to the rich people, seeing them driving good car, living in good house, with all lastest digital gadget, it's always prejudice make poverty more suffering

Don't have to worry about things like food and lodging since it is already taken care of by our government?

the scholarship is 500 monthly, it really is not something, compare with locals, who have work already, or get allowance from parent.Even they work after graduation, have to pay extra money for renting a apartment, now the price is very high, so saying that, it's not fair

maybe the china kids needed tissue. or they just cant see that fastfood chains gives free serviettes.

China students dun get allowance from parent ar?They do lor...
After graduation...U might not even see them in singapore.

Just like the author said, "RICH, LOUD,PROUD China teens".
They have got truck loads of money while the Singaporean teen could hardly have a handful.
To throw a $1 coin back from what they have cheated us (SG GOV investment in China) which is directly our hard earn money....it is actually an insult.
Give yourself a thinker. Have you ever wonder why they are here?

after grad, work for a couple of years, get PR, serve finish bond (if any) then off to US!!!!

its partly true whatthe other weekend, i just saw a small group of chinese national teens having dinner at crystal jade. order this order that and pay cash without even a frown. observe. its not like every sg kid goes out and eats crsytal jade with friends and order this much.
reason why theyre here is they migrated. and migration dun come cheap. so those are probably a bunch of rich farks like most of the cheenas ive seen.
