  People usually associate others and themselves by race. How about people who are of mixed decent? Where are they catagorized as?

  Officially you could say 'follow the father's race 'which makes me a Chinese (from Thailand) but unofficially I would feel offended if people said some bad about a Chinese,Thai or a Malay.

  In my family, only my paternal grandmother Malay. Yet in I/C all malay. My father say gd for sch subsidies.

  I dont think Singapore Malays have subsidies anymore and I dont think they want it -Thats the difference between Singapore and the Malaysia

  They always follow the father's race. Even if the fahter is chinese/malay and the mother is chinese then the child 3/4 chinese, if in the father's IC they write malay then malay if chinese then chinese for the child

  There are a lot of Malays who look like Chinese and I am just a Chinese who looks like a  native American or a Hawaiian>LOL
