My dad was admitted into TTSH on 27 May for pneumonia and for the 7 days he is in TTSH, I doubt if they had treated my dad. Reason being that after he was discharged BY TTSH, he was readmitted into another hospital via ambulance for being very sick less than 24 hours of his discharge. He was then directed into ICU for 4 days due to chronic pneumonia such that he is breathing by a ventilator. Can someone tell me how a patient can be discharge if he is readmitted into ICU less than 24 hours later? Representative from TTSH keep suggesting my dad was recovering therefore was discharged. A patient (with pneumonia) should be fully recovered but discharge, not recovering, given my dad's condition is poor. They (TTSH) are paid, not free and therefore should do their job. For anyone else who experience this, I sympathize. Dont just keep quiet. Raise the issue so that no one else will suffer like my dad.

So far, according to what I know and the experience by family members and friends, TTSH has been more professional and caring compare to the well known unprofessional singapore biggest public hospital. TTSH service is good.
Sorry to know about your dad's case. You would want to send feedback and complaint to their service quality team.
I sugguest to feedback to TTSH rather than here..
and I'm sure that all hospital has a set of guidelines as to when a patient is able to be discharged & fyi, TTSH is the 2nd busiest hospital if not SGH..
TTSH is second but their service excellence far exceeds that of SGH. SGH sucks big time!
let's face it: TTSH, NUS and SGH, which are all government hospitals.........are all trash.
service bad as hell, hospital looks so 80s and gloomy, doctors look so amatuerish like just graduated from poly (or maybe just came out from uni), nurses show long face etc.......
if i had a serious illness, i will never trust my life to these retards.
and btw, i'm saying this cos' some doctor from NUS screwed up my health when i was young.

My friend said that he went to Geylang polyclinic and was told he has to wait 3 months for a dental appointment and if he needs filling, to wait 6 months. He said that if he has to wait so long, by that time, his teeth would have dropped off.
Damned cursed despot and his gambling addicted daughter in law, taking massive amounts of public money and losing it to foreigners.

i believe u have not visited the hospitals for donkey years. You will be surprised to see it has been changed to like shopping mall.
well, i also dun blame you for your comments about the docs and so on because many local docs suck big time especially those from SGH. Don't go SGH, it sucks big time. Even the dr worked there also complained about SGH. Could not stand left also

Geylang under Singhealth, i think. Singhealth hospitals always make people wait long long lah. SGH is under singhealth. SGH sucks big time, tightly controlled by old bloody fart

i just visited NUH and SGH last year or so........and although the appearance seems good, the nurses and docs are trash. crap.

i have nothing against local docs, but i really cannot stand those young docs, especially those who just graduated / few experience.
they make WRONG diagnosis all the time, give crazy suggestions, prescribe super Ineffective medicine and in the end, have to waste money and time to find 2nd opinion.
i wonder how many patients these doctors from SGH, TTSH and NUH have "indirectly harmed" and screwed up.
Obviously it all depends on case to case basis. I believe that not the whole TTSH is bad and its very unfortunate it happened to my dad. That just means that if part of the hospital provides such crap service, then it is the whole hospital, in this case, TTSH to review and give the patient's family a good explaination. Keep emphasizing they did their job and feel sorry for our situation is not good enough. I seriously doubt their investigation process as lets face it, who doesnot want to protect their own arse!

aye, all they will say is they're "looking into the matter".
the morale of this story is: never go gahmen-owned hospital.
i always advise my family members to go mt. elizabeth but if they illness isn't very serious, they always insist to go TTSH or other trash hospital.
Lol why is this becoming Trashing the hospital thread? Lol. I personally go for SGH. I only went there for the food. LOL!
Given that they are all "garmen-owned" hospital, it should have been free, like Australia. Yes, lousy service, lousy food, and the forever wait, but at least it is free. Private is really expensive and I would l wished to have that option to use them.
If they are good, no one will be trashing them, right? So cannot really blame us. Probably should have a new thread "Garmen hosp VS Private hosp" Or maybe no point to compare cos private will win flat. Haha...
govt hospital not good?
so that can make us go private
and pay more and more~~

are u prepared to give 40-60% of your salary to the government?
if not. shut the fuk up ![]()
Just FYI,
Alexander Hospital is better in terms of response
Instead of placing a MO when you walk-in, they will have a senior doctor to attend to you and refer you to the right department immediately, based on his experience drawn from years of medical service. This will in turn clear up queues.
For other hospitals, MO will first attend to you. Due to their inexperience (mind you, it is not their fault) they will have to perform tests and analyse the results before referring you to the appropriate departments/surgeons. These hospitals believe that senior doctors are better off attending to serious cases. This in turn, will let MOs learn and pick up experiences to grow them into top doctors. And, in time, they will be able to carry out their medical services to us, shall they be able to practice it everyday.
It is a matter of a particular belief a hospital management adopts. No right and wrong.
What do you think?
Is there a place where ppl gives 40-60% of their salary to the govt? Anyway, even if that is true, the govt might not use alot for health services. So might be useful, might not be.
Maybe there is no right or wrong but a management should adopt based on feedback. I mean you will not allow an intern MO or resident MO to be responsible for a critical ill patient right? Yes those JMO needs to learn but not when it jeopardizes another's life. Their job is tough but unfortunately very important.
