I realized that some high-ranked managers are hiring their own children into the company that they are working for as interns. Is this being ethical? Think about this, having your own child to be working as an intern in the company, which subordinates would dare to condemn the child's appraisal? They would sure appraise the child of the manager well. The company does not even belong them. Can they just allow their kids to come into the company and be an intern? Is that being fair to the rest of the students who are looking for internship? Schools should look out for such cases happening and debar them from completing their modules.
This happens to a well-known big US company based in Singapore. I shall not name the company out, but google it if you can. You will see the company's logo almost everywhere.

The tradition of SG...
when is life fair?
For internships I dont think people in the company would object......a little bit of nepotism doesnt have any effect on it...except when we talk about some important and significant position.....for low level positions usually anyone come in, nobody cares.
However if you are a young student / fellow intern, and you feel your friends or fellow candidates have been treated unfairly by this, perhaps you can bring it up to your university prof and ask for his opinion.
internship isn't permanent employment so i see no real harm there..
us company with many products....3M & P&G comes to mind....
