How to meet nice chinese people?

I stay in an estate full of disgruntled foreign talents, they huddle together and my direct neighbor just two meters away slams the door at me everyday. It is either they don't know the art of closing door or being polite. Singapore is successful due to racial tolerance and mutual respect. Being a dog owner, I meet very nice Malays and Indians. Of course if they are afraid I will respectfully let them use the lift etc. Mostly, I get smiles and greetings and good comments on my pet.
But I think Chinese PRC has different culture from us and I sincerely do not understand their deep hatred for me and my pet. The first day since they moved here, they have been slamming door at my face, kid bad-mouthing my pet and adults agreeing. To say I have neighbors from hell is an understatement. Of course I dont expect everyone to love my dog but I think basic respect is not even there. One time two times I can accept and ignore, but everyday? So much so I have developed a dislike for their type and it is so very tilted. I long to meet nice normal Chinese PRC. I am sure everyone reading this has perfectly normal Chinese friends or colleagues.Sometimes I go out and buy stuff and meet nice chinese staff and I want to be their friend! so i can have a more balanced attitude and dont feel like I am going crazy at my own estate.
I will appreciate if anyone can recommend me a chinese forum or such where I can meet nice normal chinese PRC for friends and have a better and more balanced understanding of them.I am trying very hard everyday but it is getting very tough.

maybe u are just unlucky, like the rest of Singapore.

slamming their door is not yr door. yr psycho is achieving imbalance developing irkingness. u can't change them but you certainly has the prowess and ability not to be changed by their slamming of the door. try to like them like you love yr dog.

Let's see, my dog is my lovely pet, my neighbor is not and they shut me out and never give me a chance to know them, now their spoilt kid is already so big......since they slammed the door on my smile........sharing lift and looking other way......I get the point. I dont need them to like me but I think basic human respect is truly lacking, dont even need to talk about politeness

They leave their gate ajar for easy slamming, somehow the gate is always ajar, so much so if I tried to sneak past them and at the lift landing I can hear a loud slam. Just for the sake of it!! Talk about imbalance!!

The art of closing the door. Their gate is not spoilt proves HDB has done a good job with choosing gates. They took up the whole corridor and I dont even have a shoe rack outside, they even pour kerosene on the floor to clean stuff........How sociable is their behavior? How ignorant are they? It is flammable!! So if I sweep the floor, and I sweep their corridor for them as well just because it is so near (too near for comfort) they also slam the door at me!! the dust will fly in.........how about the Kerosene????????

They call dogs rotten stupid animal.......such vehement criticism! recently a small dog ran amok barking along the corridor, I tried to bait the dog, the kid next door was barking madly at the dog and the adults did not interfere!! Instead of discipling the kid and just closing the door, the kid continued to taunt the poor scared dog, the adults scolding the dog stupid rotten animal!! it is afterall someone's pet! Of course they slammed the door!!
it is not as if I did not try, but if someone's waging war at you and shouting war cries, will you give them a cake to be thrown at your face? They dont play nice and I think I have reached my limit. It takes a lot of self control not to fight back. I figure this is very unhealthy. I used to slam all Chinese but it is wrong, surely there are some nice normal ones out there. China is that big!!
We moved here first and life was good for at least 3 years.......they are trying to edge us out. But they already knew we have a dog, if they have such immense hatred for dogs, why dont they move away? I am trying so hard everyday and they are not trying at all, doing whatever they please and disregarding other peoples' feelings like they own this floor, I dont even want to talk about the kid screaming and playing along the corridor, it is a CORRIDOR for walking not playground.

Dear FireIce, there is no way out for me. But to find a place to move. If sister island has houses I will move them to brave the mozzies and other animals.........I will choose them over my neighbor. (hint hint: my estate has banners telling people not to pee in public)
Meanwhile I just want to spend the day trying to avoid the nasty negative people out there..... : (

They have taken a liking to your DOG.
U know these PRC, they eat dog meat back home,,, after moving here, they can't eat dog meat anymore, so they don't feel too good.
Maybe, you should offer them your DOG, then they will like you.

Han chinese dun really have tendency to eat dog meats, but the ethnic koreans staying in PRC do, and to some extent north eastern han chinese

Dog meat is overrated... Didn't like it... May try the claypot stew next time I go Vietnam...

I'm so sorry for your situation . I am a Chinese . In China , no everyone love dog,some people afraid of dog . I konw your anger but you should try to understand some tradition about China .But try your pet not to disturb your neighbor ,like approaching or other something .
