To Gazelle: Should I invite my WHITE Australian friend, who is 70 years old this year (thus belonging to the so called more racist era), opens a successful chain of shops that employs not only WHITE Australians to have a chat with you Mr Gazelle?

There really is not point to the thread. Racism is present in all parts of the world, so why make so much noise about just australia?
The american used to (some still do) believe they were superior than the black, that is racism; the segregationist apartheid ideology of the south africa before Mandela was racism; The Nazis belief in the superiority of the distinctive Aryan race is racism.
What is common among all racisms in the world is that it is "the whites" who believes they are superior than the coloured people. The " white policy" of the Australian was only abolished in 1980, or around that time. I am really interested to know how much of the racists mindset remains, especially time when the whites lifestyles are affected, when jobs are taken up by new comers who are not white. Incidents like Cronulla beach incident tells me that the "white superiority" mentality is still there.
People prefers to mix around with those who are of the same kind, but only racists define the same kind by their skin colour. Many singaporeans do not like some foreigners, including the mainland chinese. I don't call that racism. We see Chinese, Indian, Malays squeezing on the same trains but in HK, nobody wants to sit near indian on the bus, that's racism. Intermarriages among different races in singapore are common. I would say, generally, Singaporeans are not racists. If somebody don't like you, it will not be because of your race or your skin colour. But of course, there are singaporeans who think that the whites are indeed superior, I would agree than such kind of racism exists in Singapore.
There is racism in Malaysia, very transparent, written in their constitution. There is racism in Indonesia, and discrimination against chinese turns bloody violent all the time, barbarian.
Is there racism in Australia? surely there is, many asians have experienced that. The cronulla beach incidents tells me it can also turn violent. 
Not all white australians dislike the coloured immigrants, but most, if not all prefer immigrants from Britain.
I would very much like to hear that there is no racism in australia. The fact that racism exists in Singapore does not make me feel anymore comfortable about down under. -
By the way Gazelle, out of interest. I'm sure all of us are curious. You were rejected based on what grounds?

Mmmh from what I know, majority means more than 50%... not 0.0 something percent. Notice we ALL agreed that racism exists everywhere? I am not saying there are no Racist in Australia. I am saying there is, BUT it is not the majority. In fact this thread on Australia seems particularly targetted at certain people in this forum due to some past personal issues.
A quick PM to FYMK will confirm that Gazelle has bad blood with some guys who are now residing in Australia.
A discussion is a good thing, but not when you start insulting people (which he is particulary good at)... I have my pride and I will not tolerate personal attacks. I will as I have said, return tit for tat. -

In the meanwhile, racism does not exist amongst Singaporeans, Americans, Chinese, Malaysians, Africans, English, Italians, Indians, Thais, Tibetians, Pakistanis, Japanese, Germans, Indonesians, as well as others in other countries.
In fact, the world is free of racism. Only the dumb Australians practise racism. They are so horrid that they rejected Gazelle and made him angry. Oh dear the atrocities that they committed! Making our dear deer angry!
I suggest that we all march down to the Australian Embassy demanding that Australia should follow in the footsteps of Singapore (the whole world in fact) and make Racism a thing of the past! Australia can learn a thing or two from Singapore. In Singapore you wouldn't find people practising racial discrimination and calling people of other races names. Gazelle of course will lead the march.
I am proud to say that Gazelle has enlightened me enough to see that Australia is so horrid... I should tell my Australian friends that I do not wish to befriend them anymore as they are all racists (even though they are very humble and nice people) because Gazelle has produced condemning evidence that Australia consist only of scums.
In fact... Gazelle, you are lucky to get rejected by Australia... at least now you are safe in racism-free Singapore.

Infact racism means to commit assault and violence. Blogging with racist remarks is not considered as acts of Racism... to summarize, Australians are much more racist than Singaporeans because they say things out, unlike some Singaporeans who poke fun of other races behind their back.
Haiz I wish that all Australian can be like Singaporeans and stop being such racist... I would suggest they take lessons from our very resourceful deer, I mean Gazelle.
PS: For everyone here, reflect on what I've said. Are we all not guilty of racism some point in our lives? If a small group of Singaporeans were to hit out another group of fellow Singaporeans of a different race, are all Singaporeans racist?
There are many unreported gang fights amongst streetgangs of different races in Singapore, a quick check with your police friends or ah beng friends (if any) can confirm what I say. They are similar to the unruly racial violence that happened in Australia in 2005 except for the press coverage. Those White hooligans were provoked by another gang of Lebanese descended hooligans. Those Australians involved are hooligans, gangsters. Do we naturally associate them with ALL white Australians?
I hope not, because I am not a gangster, neither do I wish people in other country to accuse the majority of Singaporeans of racism just because of those incidents. -
I think it is an issue for people who actually live in Australia. We carry alot more weight in opinions since we do actually live here in the Australian environment and amongst Australians BUT YOU DON'T . As for your second statement why not improve Singapore instead of wasting time trying to criticise another country? Note that no country is perfect because of individual blacksheep but that doesn't mean you can condemn a country by just showing one side of it.
As for the third statement, are you just sore that you got ejected out of the migration scheme in Australia . I am only saying this because I met people who behave like you , never have anything against Australia but when they get rejected , they whinge about racism and all that is negative about Australia.
Why do you actually want to find out about level of racism in Australia? What is your real interest in this? White policy of Australia was abolished in 1973 not 1980s . The 1975 Racial Discrimination Act made the use of racial criteria for any official purpose illegal. Cronulla is not about white superiority - some elements made it look that way. It is about failure to integrate. The reason why they targeted people of middle eastern appearance is because there are problems with middle eastern youths targeting caucasian women at the beaches and making lewd remarks to them. Especially when in a rape case of a girl , the muslim boy went to make a defence about the way she dressed allowed him to rape her. A few of their rape cases have that pathetic defence excuse of " oh it is because my religion taught me that" . But those cases doesn't help much with integration and made things worse. Now an middle eastern iman in Australia went to actually call unveiled women an exposed piece of flesh. He said that if stray cats come by and feast on the meat (rape) , it is not the fault of the cats . His comments does not even HELP integration. And calling for Australia to be an islamic state .. now that is designed to create furor.
For Cronulla , one thing turned to another through a catalyst of mob behaviour and it became all out war.However, the long term non-caucasian residents were spared.
I can tell you from personal experience , some of the young idiots of middle eastern appearance do make very lewd remarks and harass girls. Their car also has a huge arabic sticker and that is an identifier by itself. Fortunately my friends and I were in a crowded place and some guy shooed them off because he thought something didn't look right. -
