China wont kill its own. The reunification of taiwan is inevitable. USA should just suck it in and accept it. Why blow up China when u can blow up the entire middle east ?

Looking at the pro-china posts by some posters in here, I begin to worry for our nation...
I don't know if everyone in here are Singaporeans or not, but I think when this "grand master plan" of China focus on Singapore we will see who are the Singaporeans and who are the "others".
Seems like one of China's strategies is to flood the intented country with chinese mainlanders then steal their technologies and......you know how it goes.
On a side note: It's stupid to think China has this grand master plan to take over the world....cause I'm sure no countries in this world today want to be taken over by another.

The West need to make up the missed lessons of Chinese history and culture
Western media should learn about China rather than spread false propaganda and agitate people to turn against China.

The Chinese government just isn't "in touch" with the rest of the world sometimes. They think they can cover everything up with some bullsh!t propaganda. Everytime the Chinese govt screws the pooch on some international issue, they have this massive propaganda engine of theirs come up with some online-flood of biased information to activate nationalistic sentiments. Best example, this bullSh!t "WAS,IS and ALWAYS part of China" clip. If they think everybody's gonna believe that they "Liberated" Tibet back in the 1950s, they are wrong. Outside China, ppl still remember it as an "Invasion."
Bringing up all the Yuan, Qing Dynasty history does little to justify China's claim of Tibet to be part its territory. If that were the case, Singapore, should belong to the Indonesians since it was founded by a Prince of the Srivijayan empire.

When the time is ripe, China should allow broad autonomy to Tibet. Tibetans should be majority group in Tibet.
Dalai lama and his clique should give up their ambitions to split Tibet from China.

Well that generally happens when you get assimilated. But your point is? I'm not asking Tibet to declare independence. I'm stating that people don't like China and thats why they are so harsh with criticisms of this entire Tibetan bullsh1t. The Free World doesn't like authoritarian regimes. You think any of those western pro-Tibet protesters will lay their lives down for Tibet?

I've got more faith in the US (though its not much) than in China. Like it or not, the Americans were the ones who freed Europe from the oppression and tyranny of Nazi Germany. They were the ones that kicked the Imperial Japanese back to Japan. The were the ones that went into save ethnic Albanian Muslims from genocide.
OTOH, China only served to inflame situations in Vietnam and the Korean Peninsula. If MacArthur had his way, China would have been nuked.
China is trying to be a military challenge to the United States. They surfaced their submarines within torpedo range of a US Carrier, its hard to convince me that that is not an act of provocation? No warship should get so close to another country's warship without formal arrangement. It is an undeniablely provocative act that has complete disregard for accidents that may cause international crises.
The Collapse of the Soviet Union as the BEST thing that could have happened. The resultant US hegemony saw the world take a huge sigh of relief over the looming threat of Global Nuclear War.
Iraq was a huge strategic miscalculation, but the Americans are paying for it with the blood of their servicemen. What did China pay? Iraq is now generating more oil than they ever did during Saddam's reign. Guess which countries benefit from the oil that now flows from Iraqi taps? Developing nations like China. Lets face it, the Americans are not gonna restrict oil flow and raise prices when they have such huge energy demands as well.
What is important now is that we realize that Tibet's just a reminder of how dissatisfied is with China. If they don't get their act together and exploring means to change and cooperate, the threat of a confrontation is real. One day, a USN Seahawk is gonna drop LIVE training ordinance and "accidentally" sink a Chinese submarine stalking a US Carrier, and we can all say hello to WW3.

it is with history that singapore stakes its claim on Pedra Branca . So is China on Tibet, history is very very important.

Dude, Pedra branca is a piece of rock thats being recognized as being contested.
Tibet is a region with its own ethnicity and culture that was taken over militarily by the PLA. That overrides anything else that happened in the history that was recorded by Chinese historians. That was the history that the world saw and recorded.
History is important, uncontested. But whose history do we take as a benchmark when deciding things like that. Like I said, the Indons can make a claim that Singapore was part of the Srivijayan Empire hence a part of Indonesia. But the world saw Singapore declare independence in 1965, and recognized that part of history.
