Rummel's Law states that the less freedom a people have, the more likely their rulers are to murder them.
American columnist Arnold Beichman named the "law" after American historian and sociologist R. J. Rummel. Beichman says that Rummel's research:
- "has shown that more people in the 20th century have been killed in cold blood by their own dictatorial governments right and left — 3 times as many — than have been killed in the heat of battle." [1]
Examples include genocide in:
- Iran - Islamic Republic, Mullahs, Akhoonds, Ayatollahs (Khomeini & Khamenei)
- People's Republic of China - Mao Zedong

You are actually going to push the argument that this is actually a law?

Be more broadminded, Don't just pick any words out of context. This as commonsense will tell you is not the law in the sense of law passed by parliament but some social law which because of its pervading truth is called law as quoted by its author. From your own quote you yourself already knew as much it was not the parliamentary law. So why split hair over such minor issue. The important message here is whether a government is likely to ill-treat its people when its people lack the quality to check on wrong doings by the government.
