  the `bahasa' you imply is a short-form to indicate bahasa indonesia.

  the same in malaysia, it is called bahasa malaysia or bahasa melayu.

  similarly, bahasa cina indicate chinese language.

  Which means the crowd is going to go wild if Obama said something in Melayu or Bahasa Indonesia when he travelled to Malaysia and Indonesia.
