Ahh well, that helps save money. But my parents have already booked a holiday.

Spending money overseas is good, it will help ease the inflation in Singapore. Give them a list of the Christmas presents and ask them to buy from overseas and bring them back.
The despots couldn't be bothered and raise electricity by 21%? Push up the cost of living for Singaporeans and arrest those people protesting against the high cost?
Singaporeans do something about it! Send the email to your friends.

Singaporeans are now attempting to lower the cost of living here by stopping all spending and cutting down on spending on essentials.
It will benefit the country and Singaporeans at the expense of foreigners.
Do not spend even if you can, hoard your money in this time of uncertainty and do yourself a favour as well. Do this until the cost of living falls significantly. You will benefit from the lower prices if you delay your spending, you will be able to buy more for less later.

Retrenchments, pay cuts... you are better off if you stop spending and cut down on essentials.
Tell your friends to do the same until prices fall to reasonable levels given the average Singaporeans income.

Hi
Join everyone and stop spending, hoard your money, cut down on essentials and help lower the cost of living. Buy later, pay less. (There are rumours that the government will be giving away vouchers to spend soon, so stop spending for now.)
If they give the people back the money they took from GST and other hidden taxes in cash instead of shopping vouchers, hoard the cash, it is just a little of the money they took from you, or use it to settle your outstanding loans.Settle as much of your outstanding loans as possible.

You remind me of this macabre joke.
There were 3 men, John, Jack and Jay, stranded on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere.
One day they found a magic lamp and released the genie trapped inside. The grateful genie then granted them each one wish. John, who had a family and missed them, instantly asked to be transported back to them. *POOF!* A happy John reunited with his family.
Jack too had a familly and missed them, and ask for the same wish. *POOF!* A happy Jack reunited with his family.
Then came Jay's turn. He asked for his wish just before the genie disappeared.
*POOF!*, *POOF!* An astonished JOhn and Jack reappeared back on the island.
Jay had no familly and no one else in the real world. His wish was for John and Jack to keep him company on the island!

Everyone is fighting for their lives, encouraging one another, suggesting practical solutions and doing what they can to avert disaster, but there you are giving ill conceived advises.
You must either be dirt poor or filthy rich to be so cavalier towards the lives of your fellow citizens. Either way, you must be miserable. So much that you want others to keep you company. Misery loves company.

Right please give us more examples of Chtachak the rice farmer, his situation is sooooo relevant to our situation. We are living in a high cost of living society and the high costs is artificially generated by dishonorable despots making policies that are self-serving and benefiting their own relatives, cronies and dogs.
It is time that Singaporeans rectify the damage.
Curse the self-serving despots and send the email!

but your email made me feel we're helping you worry about a singaporean in particular instead of singaporeans as a whole.
with so many singaporeans working in sales and retail lines LOCALLY what do you would happened if enough people were to follow your golden advice . its practically a course of action that hurts the people first and then the govt, not about helping people
Change, change, change. Never mind change to what — just change
Get rid of PAP regime lor.
Simple.
The site that the above post links to is prone to run out of bandwidth because of ass-licking dogs spamming the site... so if you cannot link to it, either link to the google cache or wait for the beginning of the next month to link.

How many times do people have to repeat something before it gets into your head? If people follow my advice, the foreigners working in Singapore at the present has to go home.

Not really a good idea at least not for now but I would like to see them lose 1/3 of their power to the opposition for a start

I agree.
A landslide victory by the opposition now would be counter productive, they aren't ready to take over. They would fumble around for the next 8 years and hurt their own cause.
Not to mention there is no single opposition party strong enough, so if they win it would be a coalition of opposition parties taking over. I don't think i have to bring up how messy that would get.
But losing a GRC or 2 would be a good wake up call for the PAP.
I would like to see them lose 1/3 of their power to the opposition for a start
Yes, that is a good target.
I agree with you.
Opposition parties gain at least 1/3 seats in parliament in next general elections should be the right way to go.
I completely and totally support that.

Maybe not one third, two or 3 GRC's might be better. Are we really certain the opposition can do a better job?
At least 1/3 for me.
