If you make ur fortune - there is always someone else who have more than you (unless you are bill gates). Sometimes those people who treat you like shit have connections you need- you just don't know.
If I have a large fortune - I would not bother about repaying people for the past. They did not hurt my family . They only hurt my pride. Then again pride is a dangerous thing to have. I would rather use the money to help out the more unfortunate: When you are in a position where you can dole out a bit of fairness, you do so. -
You're talking about poor VS rich.
Being poor is definately a disadvantage, but that's only if you ALLOW it to.
As some other people have said, think of it as something to spur you on, and you will succeed.
Many of our forefathers did not start rich. They all had to strive and work hard to get to where they are in life. Why don't you do the same, and give your grandchildren a good life?
I come from an average family myself, and i have no idea how i'm going to go to a Uni without working first, much less getting a car.
But all is not lost, i know that if i work hard (+ a bit of luck here and there...) i'll do well.
Regarding women... I think so long you can attract them well enough, they won't care about your being poor.
Rich guys don't have it made... girls may fling themselves at them, but if they don't have the attraction to hold on to it, they may find their hearts more bitterly shattered than ours...
Its all a matter of perspective, but one thing i know is that you should NEVER start pitying yourself. Self pity does nothing, but let everyone know you're a guy who doesn't have confidence, self-esteem, and THEN all the girls will avoid you like the plague. -
Being poor isnt the end of the world mah. At least you have lesser stress, don't need to worry about losing your money.
Just look on the bright side and work hard. The pot of gold is always at the end of the rainbow. -
I think it is just a matter of how u see things. If u are a very simple person and is quite happy with just 3 meals a day and a roof over ur head at night(like me), u wont mind being poor. Guess if u can be contented with wat u have ard u and appreciate them, being poor those not matter that much.

Oh felt sooo sorry for ya... but to cheer u up alittle bit tell u one true story happening in sg. I sometimes felt so miserable like u b4, but after i came about his story, i felt im not miserable at all. Hope his story can help u in many ways.
Few months ago... he had an terrible accident. terrible brain concussion, skull even cracked leaving him to think, talk n walk 'slowly'(now gettin better). Actually i know him long b4 thru my frens n he is really a tough guy. Toally different frm wat he is now. N one day i got to meet him again (give my fren a ride to find him). He got no place to stay, step mother chase him outta house, siblings all not united, no money ( left bout 20 bucks), no work (or rather cant work cos of his injuries n his bank acc got voided n no money to open new acc cos work he found pay salary to his acc), uses an old free mobile with Mcard ( cos no money to subscribe n pay).
So u miserable or he huh? U poor or he poor?
Not trying to 'suan' u... but trying to help u don keep thinking u poor. -
i am a woman and i will now tell you my story... as short as i can.
my family is average. my parents, educated at A & O levels. my dad was a teacher. from young, he always told me that as a woman i should not have too much education...
my 2 bros get the tuition and attention. i got nothing after O levels. my dad said his job is done.
i went to school from 8 to 1 and went to work at tel operator from 3-11pm. 2 years. i did badly in A levels and could not go into U.
next 2 years, just worked and had enough of stressful life. tried doing part time evening business courses, started at cert level....
10 years later, balancing between work and school, i earned my masters degree.
today, doing doctorate. my dad.. no financial nor moral support but only a wet blanket. his logic is.. WHY DOES A WOMAN NEED TO BE SO EDUCATED? HER JOB IN LIFE IS TO GET MARRIED......
my bros ... had an easy life and went to university and now with cushy jobs..
unfortunately they never had it tough... so they dont know how to survive in difficult situations. every small thing... they complain and get upset because it is not 'their way'.
i have a much better job and better skills at problem solving, decision making and alot more discipline. how else could i have managed my life otherwise?
i am very proud of what i have achieved on my own, despite the many obstacles. sometimes it hurts to think about my family and how easy others have it. yet most of the time, i feel that i dont owe anyone anything.....
in the words of william hung "i have done my best and i have no regrets".
boy, girl, man, woman.... what difference does it make? we all face discrimination... in our own ways.

Our pay sucks and even after working many years we might not be able to reach the level of the degree holder. If we study private U, we have to pay ourselves and cannot use our CPF money to do so.
On top of all this grief, we still have all the crap about local ladies being judgemental of us guys. Give me a break and just admit that if the person is poor and lowly educated, he's not worth the time. Spare me the excuses.

in short define yr own happiness.
no gf or they give u some cork excuse then just go without one loh i mean u will always have yearnings for one but as time goes buy u find that have or dont have its also not that important once u find out in life what makes u happy.
if u keep thinking about this things it just gets worse and worse or get involved in some volunteer work loh. u poor i also poor until u see someguy lacking something or parts of their body then u see them even happier than u i think from there u can start finding what's it that keeps them happy.
they even worse than us ah girls see u at least talk i see some girls see people who are unfortunate or beggars they siam until dont know where this type of girls u want meh. if next time something happen to u they will also do the same thing to u

People who grow up under a poorer and harsher environment as compared to others born with a silver spoon since birth would have to depend more on themselves for a great deal more in life.
Maybe the earlier phase of life will be harsh, unhappy, or even deprived to certain aspects - dependent on how you see this world.
However as you gradually progress along this survival curve, you will find one who has been the storms can adapt and be better equipped with the neccessary survival skills to effectively deal with this cruel and dynamic world.
If someone has to be cruel to you anyway, why not let that person be you?
Take pride in the opportunity to horn yourself into SOMEBODY from scratch.

i tell u when i work wif a female graduate in my company and other also engineers or supervisors but non graduates i see each one of them tackle technical issue i can tell the difference oredi...all are given title "engineer" but the way they approach a problem differs by leaps and bounds......
........education and certifications is not the main factor for success....but tradition cannot be shattered......education will and always be needed there -

Still, I was thrown into BMT along with all the hock-kian pengs, with some I made good friends with. My brother was also a white horse, and he too was thrown in a combat infantry unit and sweated it out with the hock kian pengs. Fact is neither me nor my brother enjoyed any priveledge at all, perhaps we had some immunity but this was NOT evident in the way we were treated. And we did have bunkmates who were chauffered in Mercedes S classes, BMWs, etc...and they were also thrashed.
I think the system is fair, unless of course if the rich can "chao keng" and hire a specialist to state that there is something wrong with them medically. But then again my parents did not do so, they think ppl who take the easy way out will never amount to much in life. On hindsight I agree with them. For me at least I really got to mingle with people from all walks of life, away from my cushy life at home. Gained alot of experience and learnt some valuable lessons too.

Go enrich urself through part-time degree courses or pick up some diplomas instead of wallowing in self pity. Degree is also not a guarantee of a good job....u are going to need luck, vision, determination and GUTS to succeed.
U can have had a rough start but the wayers ahead are still up to you to chart and navigate....make the best of it. Instaed of lamenting on the fact that ur down and out, search for orportunities you can exploit to improve on your finiancial status or improve upon your job prospects.
There are plenty of nice gals in Singapore, u just have to look at the right places -

I don't feel that people are being treated unfairly in Singapore, although being treated unfairly can happen sometimes, but it's a matter of how you perceive the situations.
As for finance wise, I'm not very clear about ur circumstances so I'll just be very general about it. Firstly, don't just focus on ur problems and what u don't have. But rather ask urself "what can u do about it?" In the end, u will still have to deal with ur current situations and please, don't ever runaway from the problems cos they will always hunt u down and toment u again.
Again, It is important to have a good cert, degree or diploma. However, it is so not true that one cannot do anything or find a job just because of the qualification. There're some colleagues of mine in the past who were degree holders, and still lose their job and later, working in a factory as a quality assistant. Tiring job - 8 to 6 pm, and sitting there just to do samplings of wires and industrial equipments. The pay.. it's low. I just don't wanna say it out. And I've got a few friends who came out of ITE and doing good. They have a great job and a stable life.
It's not a matter of how high u go academically. But rather, how u manage ur time and how rersponsible r u with ur life. I believe that everyone of us has a potential inside us. It's just how willing we r to seek after it and share it wherever we go.
Lastly, about girls judging the local guys?? Hmm... if I'm a girl, I'll definitely WON'T reply to ur message. Hahaha...
But... since I'm a guy, then let me tell u something. If u think that girls will only go for guys who r highly educated, rich, famous, having a glib tongue and for being such a hunk, let me tell u, u r so WRONG! Although I will have to totally agree that about 0.000000000000001% of the girls around are that paranoid.
Here's a little secret: -
Girls are attracted to a few things:
1. Wealth
2. Status
3. Physical Appearance
4. Personality
Anyone who possess ANY of the four above will succeed... if u know what I mean... hehehe...
However, if u wanna work on ur personality, then I suggest that you work on ur body language and eye contacts. Girls will be watching out for these things at first sight.

i personally dont think there is a huge difference la, but sometimes really want to lament how come i am not born in a rich family too.
say during school days, while we present our daily presentations with work printed out of our class printer, and can only print final presentations at printing shops (cost ard $200-$300 a time)... i've got classmates who are doing such printing during normal presentation days and do BETTER printing (like impossible sizes) during final presentations.
sure our lecturers will look at content, but presentation wise we lose big time lor.
then the same people have money to get the best digital camera to capture the best colours in our projs, or take 5rolls of film on manual cam to select 20 pieces.
i've got friends entire life no need to pay for bills, all extra money goes inside her bank acct. before she starts working she already have near to 10k in her bank. when we went taiwan together, her father paid for the air tics, then gave her 1k as converted to 20k taiwan dollars, and another 1k sgd to bring along "in case she needs to buy anything".
i borrowed 1.8k from my mother to go on this trip, never intended not to return to her, but she demanded the money back 3mths after i return from the trip, when i was neck-deep in my school projs.
got another friend who has been to 20 over countries in her 20yrs of life. another who drives an expensive car (courtesy of her father) when she was 19.
dont really mind being poor, but can be richer la... hahahaha.
