Love or be Loved?

How can love be counted? Do u measure love by the # of thgs u buy & do for ur loved 1? How can we be so calculating in love?
If his commitment to me is 100%, & my commitment to me is 100%, but due to work sometimes, I dun call him as much as he calls me, but does tt make me any less committed than him?
*smiles* I dun think so. Life is too short to be calculating in love.

If u love ur partner means u love ur partner.
However, u may compare in a way like this. You love ur mum more than ur dad. Then it can be calculated like that. -

Well, Love to me is inmeasureable esp when it comes to feeling. Well, i believe u will never expected any returns from him or her regardless how much sacrifice u made. In a utopia true love, that is wat i hope & wish for. But then again how can this true love last? Up & downs all part & parcel in our life as well as our relationship. So i agree, how can measure love. Most important is that ur loved one will be able to stand by when the whole world turn against u or when u feel illtreated in the outside environment & the person u need most will always be ur side.

Be Love or loved is in a 2 way traffic, and never be able to calculate the weighs between them. Most important will only the feelings down in the hearts & able to commit for life to each other, that will be the basic of LOVE.
Love is by chance & u the one to grab this opportunity & never let go when u have the opportunity in the way u treasure the precious moment with that person & never take him or her for granted that he or her will be with u always.
Anyway, that's how i feel for love.... -
Somehow, I've always been the one to love more than be loved. But I don't mind, cause it gives me the bulk of the experience.

Utopian love probably doesn't exist. But I think I haf somethg close to it. We've forgiven each other before the other asked for forgiveness, we're there for each other as much as we can be, & tt's without many requests from each other. We've shared each other's ups & downs, as well as the truly mundane thgs in life.
The 1st flush of love & the excitement has oredi gone between us as time passed. Wat we haf is a solid, dependable r'ship, plus, we're still able to make each other meltz juz by staring into each other's eyes. We still hold each other, give each other our time, our care, & affection.
That's all tt I've ever wanted : ) And I'm oredi contented.

First of all, gald that u hav found the one. Well, i also agree utopian dun exist, but i feel that u have already wat u wann in life, that's very good. To me, i feel that i only need a simple life where i can provide care & love to her together with , she will stand by me during the ups & downs.
As couple, that's the most impt sharing the laughter & sorror together. Again, Contented is the good word as we shld not take each other for granted. Treasure the person in this moment, dun let go from ur grip lightly.

LOL I'll have to agree with this. We inject meaning in life so that life is livable. Otherwise, what does that leave us?

I definitely wish u all the best : ) U haf a deep & sensible understanding of wat love shd be. It's Not abt wat the person can give u, but wat u can bring to the life of the 1 u love. At the same time, appreciate the simpler thgs in life together wif ur partner.
U're rite tt I've found wat I wan, but it took me a long time to find it, & even a broken heart once. In a way, finding my partner made the heartache more than worthwhile. If I cld turn back time, I wldn't change a thg.
Basically, we give each other the best we can, material or immaterial, it doesn't matter, as long as both noe tt it's the best the other can give. There's No other feeling tt can q. compare : )

A simple version to prove my hypothesis
Let us define True Love as wanting to give up everything for the other party and not wanting the other party to sacrifice himself or herself for the other since they want the other party to be happy
Assuming True Love exist and both parties have True Love for each other and believes in the other party having True Love for the other. This implies that both parties will give up everything for each other. However, this contradicts the definition of True Love as in expecting the other party to have True Love for you, you expect him to sacrifice his all for you when in actual fact the definition of True Love forbids such a sacrifice from the other party. Hence True Love is a paradox in itself and should not be expected.
Love between couples is conditional no matter what... two cannot live as cheaply as one. -
Such pain comes when we expect something that cannot be achieved.
