i think if u have to force urself to call someone dear...
don't even bother...it's damn fake...u know it...if someone has won ur heart...1 word is never enough...
u will not only use dear...but whatever sweet words to describe the one who has won ur heart...
on the other hand...in some cases some people like being called sweet names...
it's part of an emotional thing...a gaping hole that needs to be filled...
in other cases...it could just be culture...dear=friend...
but i think it's more of the former than the latter...
and i think it's culture to do alot of 'couple-stuff'
problem is...to a certain extent alot of mixed signals are given out...to a possible extent confusing each party whether they are truly in love...
perhaps to an unknown extent...the reason why there are so many break ups? our youth culture has alot of emotional gaping holes unfilled...and we desire to fill it with steadys...one fail...try another...
then give some excuse...which to some extent i think and have reason to guess...is not one that's rational!
i dont have any solutions but i can bring this problem to light...
are we really that fearful of not being loved? where is our foundations built on? and are they strong enough?
to great extents i believe...melodramas, dramas concerning love issues...have perhaps given our youth culture wrong ways to handle problems...
because we rely on our feelings...
i think it's quite understood that feelings can go up~
and they can sadly go...down~
bottom line...it's not constant
but we want constant loving...frm ur bf/gf friends close friends and parents...wherewith 1 is not there...the other should be...
and if neither is possible...then to a certain extent...depression sets in...
and u go what is love and blarblarblar...
so i guess checking what ur emotional foundations are built on is important and not going by feelings all the time...
perhaps...yet dependent frm person to person...if there's someone really special to you...hey it's automatic...yet u're not led by physical desires alone...but u enjoy being in the other's person's presence! u feel ur world is u and he/her

eros - physical, passionate
philos - like, favour
agape - selfless, god-kind of love(meaning god loving as god...not as how we man love)
there's 3more...1 for family then i can't rem. the other two...i'm not a greek scholar >.<
however for english!!!!! u only have ONE word...
if there's 6 words...how many combinations of problems can u derive trying to squeeze into 1?
maybe if we were french...it would help much better...
