Sounds incredible? Shade, it's me. It's a true story, cosh it's my life. I'd wasted time, but I've gained a measure of it back. All is Not lost simply cosh u din get the best grades during ur O's. From it, u can earn an experience, how to deal wif failure, how to cope wif it, how to move on, & u become stronger.
I wldn't haf had the chance to make thgs better for myself if I'd simply committed suicide. And the strength I had from disappointments in the past has helped me deal wif tough working life now : )

Aiyo..xiang dang chu, I also din do well for my O levels. I got 21 points L1R4. My aim was to go poly la..failed maths, so could not make it, retake the next year, still failed maths but got 19 points instead. Still, poly din welcome me. So I was considering whether to go Pre U or ITE.
It's NOT the end. I went to ITE lor..worked hard and got top 5%, then get provisional entry in the course I want, Business Studies (tho not my dream course which is mass comm).
What subjects did u fail? What course do u want? At my time, fail eng might be asked to resit for the eng paper but still can be enrolled into poly..
Go ask for advise ya..dun give up yet! I believe u are not the worse one. I remember when I was registering at ITE, one girl cried, kneeled down and begged the sch to take her in. So cham u see..and the person in charge was discouraging me from joining..But I know what I want is poly..and ITE will be my stepping stone towards my goal.
I made it. Though it took me 3 years, but I believe that when there's a will, there's a way.. -

I got 20 points, I just applied into poly using both methods... -

Don't be upset. Average entrance but you can still make it well in the school and go to the future institution of your choice. Believe that you can go to poly, thereafter study well and get to the university be it local or overseas.
I have several friends who do normal in O but they study hard in poly and get to U. You can do it man.
I have good entrance grades to a prestigious college but for the past year there keep failing subjects until tutors also give up on me. Very demoralise and may quit to work or go poly.
Future is never certain. -

Then? U got all credits for the subjects that u sat leh!
Consider not bad liao. People cry over the results they failed etc..
My fren was not able to get in poly last year..so she's trying her luck again tmr..I'll be accompanying her..

Future REALLY is in shambles.....
I spent 1 year in Pre-U center, moved to JC after retaking O'levels. Moved to Uni and now doing postgrad.
But it doesn't mean I am successful in life. Some diploma holders are earning more than Uni grads. It all depends on how you define a successful future. What you want in life is all it matters.

last i remembered (true of course), i was writing an assignment for my doctorate.
my schoolmates who went to poly actually still have poly diplomas... (no, i dont have rich parents either so i did work hard on my own)
past failures does not mean future failures. the future is up to you.
by the way - you didnt do well doesnt mean it is about you. consider this: the subjects thought in school wasnt to your interest and your life goals.
go find what it is that is destined for you and make the best of it.
