  It will work if his ego is not bruised by the fact that you are earning more than him and if he treats you well and appreciates on your role on contributing to the household and if he is willing to accept a role-reversal.
  
  Mine didn't work out. I was working he was studying. I was paying for his studies etc.
  
  Honestly, I didn't mind that I was the one paying for everything. He doesn't come from a rich family. What I did mind alot was he was taking me for granted and was using lots of emotional blackmail on me and I couldn't take his outburst of temper and tantrums. Adding to that, I had to serve him hand and foot. I don't mind that if I'm being appreciated for that, but no.
  
  He doesn't even listen when I talk. Since I was being treated like a money tree and a servent. Gradually I lost all respect I had for him and started refering him as a moocher and a sponge which of course further degenerated the relationship even further. Not that I didn't try to salvage the relationship but everytime I tried to talk, he will ignore me by turning on the TV.
  
  Anyhow, I believe that having a higher pay won't affect the relationship or the love you have for each other. What is more important is mutual respect, understanding and love. Always show appreciation for each other. Don't put him down for earning less nor should he take you for granted that you are paying for the majority of the bills.

  fortunately for me, my him is not like tat. he is really nice to me. i am only worried about hurting his ego and wonder how long can this last w/o him bursting.
  do u think ur ex did all those to you bcos he felt inferior and as a result, develop bad temper, throw tantrums at u?
