Since you have not made any commitment why dont you get out of it while you still can. I mean why go through all the trouble and strain you relationship with your mum. I am sure there are plenty of good chinese guys out there. Think hard before doing something you might regret.

Why is it that the ppl who post stuff in this forum make it sound as if it's so WRONG to be Muslim? As if the religion is so tedious, it's so troublesome, etc etc. Pls bear in mind the Muslims who are also reading you posts.
Btw, we Muslims are not THAT narrow-minded, you know. If you don't wanna convert, eventually, it's up to you & if no,you don't have to adopt the Malay culture, for God's sake. Sure, the Muslim parents-in-law may not like it, but so what? It's your life. No matter what mummy or daddy says, eventually, YOU are the one in control of your life.
If you still let your parents make decisions for you once you reach adulthood,then I don't know what to say.....the same goes for parents-in-law. They can nag all they want but you can still turn a deaf ear if you want to.
Btw,parents should also respect their kids. -
It is a matter of culture. There are conservative chinese as well as malays. Parents who opposed have their reasons. It is ridiculous to think that once you are an adult you needn't bother about your parents's opinion anymore.
