I concur with Devil1976 in that it's your friend's life to lead. To often, many get so involved in their friends' lives, that they expect their friends to take their view & follow it, & there's No other correct way nor alternative for them to choose.
Whilst as friends, none of us would like our friends to suffer, & sure, it hurts to see them cry, we can't force them to lead OUR lives only, & to accept OUR views only, & to do wat WE wld do only.
As friends, what we can do is listen & offer advice, but recognise at the same time, that it's THEIR lives to live, & THEIR lives to lead. We shouldn't be so narrow-minded to think that our way is the ONLY right way. There're other factors to consider, like the depth of her feelings, her character, & so on...
You may disagree with me regarding this matter, but nonetheless, this is how I feel. I've had friends in similar kinda positions, in which I think that what they're doing is only hurting themselves further, & I do let them know what I think. After saying that, I just focus on being a friend to them in need & giving them a shoulder to cry on. My advice to them is always this: "Think seriously about whether you really want this kinda sadness in the long-run. If you think you're better off & happier this way, I'll support your choice".
And that's how I've kept my friends.

I hope for your sake that your friends won't judge you so harshly if you're ever in the same position, & don't say you'll never be in this position, because Never say Never. I'm sure you've heard of that saying...
Because if your friends are so quick to condemn you for your "mistakes after mistakes" or your "blindness", it'll really hurt you.

As Feow Foew has suggested, I think it should be good enough that you just chat along with her as a friend and give your opinions.. But should never really try to install your own beliefs forcefully into her...? -

How do you know her stories are 100% true? There're also often psychologically related cases where people like to make up their own stories (intentionally or unintentionally).... Else, it might be that like you've said.. dun worry, feow feow, when i make mistakes which i did recently, my frens scolded me and brot me to my senses and i am very grateful for that because that was the way i was rudely woken up
i also very sad to see my fren up tis path, her story is too long and complicated to state here but she has really made many strange "diversions " in life....like wat i said, she lent money to a guy fren whom i mentioned in my earlier posts, she lent him more than 10k and she herself like kiam kena like that
you think as a fren, we are wrong to advise her to take care of her money
she can lend money easily to frens but when we go out to eat, she always has to choose the cheapest thing to eat and always tells us she is "po chan" (bankrupt)
wat for right, to lend a man money to repay his cruise ship gambling debt and she herself suffers, sometimes i think we are not harsh enuff with her and just let her be, we really feel for her you noe..torture herself to lend money to a guy who lost it whilst gambling.....and suffer herself -
