  Remember to enjoy yourself, enjoy her company, enjoy the conversation and let the evening/ambience flow. If the evening (sorry, I am assuming it's an evening date) has you too caught up with trying to please her then (1) it may backfire, (2) you will forget to enjoy the evening yourself and (3) your date may see through you and find you so fake.

  I spend my first date mainly in a coffee shop chatting and then we went window shopping. Its a good idea to pay attention to her words so you can bring them up in future conversation. I think ladies likes it when guys shows effort in remembering their likes and dislikes.
