I'm sad to say that many of my fellow men are just insensitive. then again, so are a hell lot of Singaporean girls.
You should have never offered to support her. Remember, if you love her that much it must be because you guys support each other mutually; not that one of you enjoys bearing the burden and the other being the burden. Instead of offering her money just like that, you should have done it more tactfully, she's a lady, treat her with the respect she deserves, she loves you and doesn't want your money, enough testament of that. What I feel you should have done is told her the truth that underlies every relationship, that you're in this together, her problem is your problem, and that you'll solve them together, just like you're on this journey of life together.
Humble yourself down, be a MAN, a real MAN. Man enough to have strength to come down to the ground. Let her cool down, and "hong" her back, and have a nice long talk to see how to work things out together.
