Question for NUS students....

  Hello Chris.....
  
  I was formerly staying in PGPR (Im an alumnus).
  
  Please don't worry about the heat in Singapore. It's not too bad. Initially maybe u need to adjust to the climate here. But after a while, there is no problem.
  
  Regarding the room, there is a ceiling fan. Very good and big and u can adjust the speed too. It covers the whole room. You can get pretty nice soft breeze, while u are sleeping, reading, or whatever, day and night. You are not likely to feel warm/ hot. You can open ur windows too and have good ventilation/ air flow at the same time.
  
  Certain rooms may have afternoon direct sunlight coming from the windows, depending on its direction, and this may cause u to feel warm/ hot, because the sunlight may reach ur table area (or other areas). For example, your face and arms will feel hot after reading at the table for some time. But, simply use the blinds on the windows. There are adjustable blinds already installed. This blocks the sunlight. Anyways, not all rooms have afternoon direct sunlight, it depends on the direction.
  
  PGPR has many exchange students coming from cold countries, like Sweden, and many stay in type C rooms. You don't really need to get worried of the heat, but of the size. Please be prepared to live in a tiny room.

  don't you think sg weather's encouraging towards the males to work harder in the gym so they can show off their muscles (when they feel hot).

  I do not know if your room is facing the afternoon sun, if so, it might be very bright in the day and you should get wooden blinds.Bring in a portable air cooler or a table fan will be sufficient.
