  I notice this problem in many of my cases that is why i bring this case up.
  
  Since the guy is not willing to pay he girl will shun him most of the time.
  Once the guy stop spending on girls or have money problems the girl will usually run away.
  
  The next questions is why are girls not willing to share cost? Is it that bad? I see girls who got bf expect other guys to pay for her things.

  i used to be one who never like anyone males or females to pay for me.....
  
  and then later i only allowed my one and only bf to pay for me but no everything also lah, somethings i still prefer to pay my own..........
  
  now, i learnt to take 'branja' at ease liao....but still only if i know that person well....else no branja for me..

  sigh.... really, this ranting on and on about how gals always make guys pay is getting on my nerves. Christ! there are plenty of gals out there who pays for themselves loh...
  
  usually, this is how it goes:
  
  guy offers to pay (if he doesn't, he seems stingy, which is true). but then, gal smiles and offers to go dutch. and guy smiles and respects her decision (while feeling very relieved he doesn't have to pay for her lobster salad)
  
  if you find that that particular gal NEVER offers to pay, then NEVER bring her for expensive dinners... simple as that.

  well, these situation not only exist in S'pore.. even overseas as well (i noe cuz i'm posted overseas now).. so can't say s'pore gals r materialistic.. it's jus a trend in general..

  I have a fren who pays her own share - movie tickets, makan, cab fare etc cos her bf is still studying & has limited allowance.
  She even buys expensive gifts for her bf when on holidays/ occasions.
  U just need to find someone like her

  I bring up this topic to let girls be aware that we guys too have our own limit with cashflow, we cannot always pay for you.
  
  I am not blaming girls who are kind with guys but at bad girls who feel that guys should be treated like an atm machine.
  
  I believe that there are girls who pay for themselves and I truly respect them for it.
  
  Just hope my topic will help guys notice that we need not always pay for girls.

  I just think that girls should not always take it for granted that guys will pay... Definitely, it's a gentlemanly gesture to offer to foot the bill - but every single time? If society is still harping on the topic of equality of the sexes, I suggest the proponents of this motion reconsider their stand...
  
  Money is always a sensitive topic, and it's very hard to broach the subject. But I feel that such things shld be clarified early on into the relationship, if not the "guy paying for all" phenomenon will become more of a routine, rather than a gentlemanly gesture...
