I don't keep in touch with her anymore. Not after she deliberately insulted my guy & said he's ugly MANY times, knowing it'd irritate me.
She was never really happy for us, always tried to plant doubt in my mind about my guy.

Let the foolish wait. Their ideals are too much for them to realise the truth of higher living, the light which awaits them.
They dwell within themselves till a point when everything only revolves her/him.
Sane they are. But lost to time which ticks regardless of decisions.

I firmly believe that one must go through some form of love crisis to understand certain principles. Some principles are ONLY obtained through experience, while others could be gain through learning, enlightenment and proper wisdom.
P.S: Love complex question, somehow, have simple-easy-to understand wrong answers.

The threadstarter is suggesting the power of faith. As u know are around the world, miracles did happen due to faith. EG. statue of Virgin Mary in tears, Sai Baba ect.

I read his story. it is indeed sad true love. I am in the same situation as he. I know how it feels. it is like a depressive episode which u will never get out from. there are many guys around who still think of their old crush.

I was looking through all the replies and did not expect so many people to respond. Some of them were fruitful. i will be coming to Singapore again . The part of life in your early 20s can be difficult especiall when u just left your teen years behind. Many people may find themselves in a identity crisis the same way from child to being a teen. and some may expereince the after effect of a failed teen love. Furthermore this is the time where u enter the workforce, a different environment from your carefree school days.For guys u enter a different phase in your life which is NS. upoun completion u need to find a job to suppport your family. As u can see there are so many things all coming together in play at the same time
What made it worst for me was the failure with the girl i loved and the psychological problems i experienced n army worsened the effects. In those days army was not a bed of roses. Have heard that now it is so much easier . -

During your darkest hours, she's probably your source of strength & motivation even though it's one-sided. Has it been so much, so long that it became a habit?
Sometimes as we grow older (i am the same age as u), we bring along more & more emotional baggage. We have to pysche ourselves to lighten up & move on. -
this is the first time I read a love story that did not end like "and when I came to see her, I found out that she had died in a car accident/due to cancer/commited suicide/drowned in toilet bowl/choked on fishball etc etc.

I got to agree with u. But my decsion to leave the country had helped me. when I was in the US, the nature arund me had an healing effect, something which is lacking here in Singapore as u all know why. Back in the 80s we had more nature in Singapore. But as i am expecting on my next visit, those will have gone by now. Stupid is too strong a word... Probably the guy just refuses to admit that he never did stand a chance & never will. There're some people who fall in love, & there're some people who fall in love with the notion of love. This poster probably falls into the latter category

My 1st Love, when we broke up, I held a torch for him for many yrs, hoping to get back together with him yadda yadda yadda. Thank goodness I didn't! Otherwise I wouldn't be so happy & fulfilled now
It's scary to think back & realise that, if I'd held onto that belief, I would've missed out on the biggest love of my life! Perhaps I might've been called "devoted" by some, but I'd rather Not be held in high esteem, & instead, be able to experience a true love story in my lifetime.
