We can't possibly totally exclude love in most cases... Let alone I suspect the girl to be quite young... Love affections (stable or not) are more easily brought up within younger people as they've often yet to achieve stability in their emotional control.. Formal or non-formal, it's afterall a relationship... We should be tactful in totally excluding love in ANY relationship....
But as I've mentioned earlier.. It could have as easily been other factors like.. Pride? Dream bursting? Own worthiness? e.t.c.
