A candid, no holds barred description and discussion of a social phenomenon done in good faith...Originally posted by xXStormFallXx:Hear hear! Finally a post in this thread that's refreshing, NOT narrow-minded, stereotyping and superficial.
I think I have the right as a knowledgable Indian to differentiate between saying something just because it is politically incorrect (therefore endorsing "candid" and open talk about a social phenomenon), and a stereotype about my own race when I see one. I suggest going back to the posts that read along the lines of "true, indian girls are just......." and judge whether that is informed and intelligent comment or just narrow-minded-ness/untruth/unfair generalisation. I am by no means trying to be "politically correct," whatever your definition of that maybe, but I am standing up for my race because I'm sad to see some uninformed opinions here.Originally posted by Kelthuzad:A candid, no holds barred description and discussion of a social phenomenon done in good faith...

Dismissing something out of hand as being "narrow-minded, stereotypical and superficial" just because it does not fit neatly into a tidy little politically-correct pidgeon hole...
Which is more narrow-minded?
No, I meant the phrase "taking a wife".Originally posted by Kelthuzad:Huh? Were Singaporean men taking Thai and Vietnamese wives back in 1925?
Well said! Well said! But then, looks do play importance to some level. Just don't be racist. You might as well be a caucasian suaning us chinese. Must be partial to other races!!! I know some malay gals who are perfectly lovely and more prettier than chinese gals.. And one indian gal (My teacher) who is very pretty. Got some malay guys in my class also very handsome. And indian guys aren't too bad either. But anyway, there are both good-looking and not good-looking people in all races.Originally posted by foxwalk:I don't think skin colour should play a part in someone's attractiveness. Of course, there are many out there who have the opposite opinion. I won't call it shallow, just a lack of ability to appreciate beauty on a higher level.
Food for thought: one person's opinion does not necessarily reflect the actual situation.Originally posted by Kelthuzad:Food for thought:
Even Rambo, an Indian guy, admitted in these forums that the pretty Indian ladies are all back home in India.
Now the ones in India are a different story. The girl who acted with Jacky Chan in The Myth is absolutely gorgeous...
Edited: Don't want to hurt the feelings of Indian ladies in Singapore...
