Have I failed as a boyfriend?

Recently, my gf has food poisoning. On the first night, she said that she is vommitted a few times and feel very weak. I asked her to take a rest and to see a doctor tomorrow if she is still unwell tomorrow morning since there is no doctor at night unless it is an emergency. She did not have a fever then.
The next morning, I sms her to see if she is feeling better. She say it is still the same. Then, I ask her to go see a doctor. She say she is too weak to go and see a doctor, so I advice her to rest at home first and I will come and visit her after work. After that there was no more communication.
Then when I went to visit her after my work, she told me that she has went to see a doctor alone in the afternoon. Maybe due to her sickness, she say that I did not care for her when she is ill and she has to go and see doctor alone. Her condition is pretty bad as she also got a fever and the doctor have to give her a antibacterial injection.
I felt bad after that. But at that time, I did not know she has a fever and how serious is her condition that I need to take immediate leave to take her to a doctor because the other time when I have food poisoning, I am ok after some time of vommiting and diarrhoea without a need to see a doctor.
Do you think I did not do enough as her bf? -
Maybe that you may have not shown enough concern for her... You care for her but you have to be more concerned...
As for the food poisoning, everyone has different adaptations to the food poisoning... Everyone has different reactions... -

i hate it when im sick yet there's no love one by my side to take care of me.
but im v used to it liao.
it will be nice if u can visit her and cook/buy porridge for her, feed her, stay by her beside, watch her sleep etc.. -

Then my gf has failed as a gf.

Ya... My decision then was to see if her condition has worsen or getting better after my work. Different people has different reactions, I wasn't sure at that time. It might be better or worse.

I called her the previous night, but she say she don't feel like talking. You know when you are sick, you don't feel like talking. So sms is the best way.
I didn't sms her after that as I do not want to disturb her and to let her have a gd rest. -
I do not want her to keep replying to my sms or call. When you are sick, you just can't think properly and want to have some rest.

Since u were working, it is understandable u can't take her to the doc.
U should have bought her flowers or a get well card/ chocolates when u visit her. Helps to cheer her up.
So next time, don't go empty handed. -
make some homemade ginseng chicken soup and bring to her NOW
or buy from restaurant n say u made it -
Best not to lie.. Next time ask you to make in front of her then you die
In anycase, just apologise to her and say that you didn't expect it to be so serious. I dunno about others, but if wife or I sick (even when we were not married yet) we go to the doctors ourselves. You're not kids, you should not depending on someone so much.
But it is questionable on the concern you show her is enuff or not. -

You gotta stop assuming that your girlfriend wants to be treated in the same way you wanna be treated. Next time try asking questions like - How can I help? Do you want me to call you? etc. Let her guide you on what to do. -

True. Somehow I feel there's really not too big a 'wrong' with your assumptions... I mean... You've got your points too... Sometimes things jsut don't work out or happen the way we expect or thought it would be...
